When I was about 5 or 6 years of age, I remember hearing "Fire Maple Song" and "Loser Makes Good" alot. (Keep in mind that this was a new CD at the time. 'Sparkle and Fade' hadn't come out yet.) I didn't know that EVERCLEAR sang them. I didn't even know who EVERCLEAR was. I think I was too young to know today's (at that time) music.
Anywho, later on in life, I had heard "Santa Monica." I still didn't know it was EVERCLEAR because I still didn't know who they were. Later, even more down the line, I was in the car while my sister was driving. She turned up the radio and told me how much she loved the song that was playing on the radio. She couldn't buy the CD because she didn't know what the song was called or who sang it. One day, I was sitting in my room with the radio playing. The song had come on again. The DJ had said all the information. I called my sister up imediatly. I told her that the name of the song she loved so much was called "I Will Buy You a New Life" by a band named EVERCLEAR. She told me that she already got the CD. I remember she played that one particular song over and over again. I hated it. We started listening to the other tracks. I fell in love with "Father of Mine." I ended up getting the CD for myself.
I didn't relize EVERCLEAR was my favorite band until Song From an American Movie Pt.1.....came out and some one told me they were my favorite band. After I discovered that little part of myself, I became very interested in them. I started to get all their CD's. That is when, where, and how I got my obssesion with EVERCLEAR. To this day, there isn't one EVERCLEAR song that I don't like..........including "I Will Buy You a New Life."
