This site serves to educate people about the band known as Ataxia and their 2004 debut release: The Concerto Suite. Ataxia is a three peice rock ensemble that writes and plays all their own music. The album was created to get Ataxia's name out and to help get them more gigs in the area.

Band History: Ataxia was formed by drummer Brian Butts, bassist Alex Saiz, and guitarist Zac Cox in the year 2003. The three were all members of Galesburg High School and they met regularly to jam and write Ataxia's original set list. Alex later left due to creative differences in the band. The next people to join the band were bassist Brent Gummerson, and vocalist Kris Weese. They shortly left the band due to differences in opinions. The band was then decided a second guitarist wouldn't hurt and Pat Dodge joined the band. Still looking for a bass player to help re-capture that original Ataxia sound, bassist Matt Cupp joined the band. He shortly left due to creative differences. The band has played gigs at places such as the Cellar, Woodhull-stock, Open-mic with Concrete, Zac's living room, and the GHS battle of the bands.
April 5th 1994: The date Kurt Cobain was murdered. Zac took it upon himself to start a "gathering" of people to remember Kurt Cobain in his life and death. We gather every year on April 5th to play Nirvana songs, watch Kurt/Nirvana movies, and talk about Kurt/Nirvana. Ataxia plays all the songs and it has been a great event since the first one in 2003. Ataxia hopes everyone can attend the next event; to be held in Zac's living room on Monday April 5th, 2004.
Band Member Bios:
Brian- Original member of Ataxia. Influences are bands like Dream Theater, Tool, Planet X, and Rush. Drums: CB kit, with Paiste cymbals, and Drum Works pedals.
Zac- Original member of Ataxia. Influences are guitarists like Kurt Cobain, Randy Rhoads, and Bruce Kulick. Guitars: a metalic crimson Fender Stratocaster, a black Peavey Raptor Plus EXP, and a custom red/black Peavey Raptor 1. Microphone: Shure PG57. Click Zac's name for more info.
Pat- Joined Ataxia in late July 2003. Influences are bands like Led Zeppelin, Dream Theater, and Iron Maiden. Guitars: black Ibanez RG series, and Fender acoustic.
