The Story of Epigram

The founders of Epigram are Zach George and Tom Bales. The whole band idea started when Tom and Zach decided that they wanted to jam together in 7th grade. They then formed a small two piece band called The Hornitz. Shortly after, they included a kid named Jake into their band. He was the bass player. They taught him how to play bass, but they were unsuccessful. Jake then quit/was fired from the band. The Hornitz never played anywhere. Then Tom and Zach kept jamming when 8th grade rolled around. They were now named Punkture. They added a guitarist named Mike. Zach switched to bass for a while. They sounded horrible so they never played with Mike again. They played eighth grade talent show with an original song, but it sounded like poop because the sound was cruddy. They practiced a lot and never actually played anywhere. They made very low quality tapes of themselves and they sounded like a bunch of feedback with simple drum beats. Punkture never played anywhere. Then, Zero Gravity was formed. It was just another transformation of Punkture, with Tom and Zach, but they actually started learning how to play their instruments. Alas, they found out there was a techno band named Zero Gravity. Zach and Tom grew uninterested in practicing for a while. It was a long long break. Both band members had a lot of things going on. One day, Zach and Tom started practicing again. Their friend, Corey, came up with the name Epigram because it was a word on his vocabulary list and Zach and Tom thought it sounded cool. Zach became a lot better at guitar and actually learned how to properly sing and play guitar at the same time!!!! His songwriting also became better. Tom is now a very awesome drummer. It took us a while. Well, we are now a band again. We recently hired on Jason Horton as our bassist. We are now all 17 year olds now. We are gonna start playing gigs and stuff and it should be a lot of fun. The CD is in the works still and should be released sometime near the end of this summer. We'll give you info on the CD when it comes closer to the time of its release.
