SALUDA is a five-piece band specializing in country, rock, beach, bluegrass, and blues music, and writes their own material as well. The band currently performs every Saturday night at the 418 Music and Dance Barn in Ware Place, SC, in Greenville County, and is also available for private parties at the 418 when the band's individual schedules permit. SALUDA began in July 2002, with the current lineup as follows:
TOM SMITH (BASS GUITAR/KEYBOARDS/GUITAR/VOCALS) A self-described "half-fast" musician, Tom is an original founding member of SALUDA and is the band's frontman, arranger, and principal songwriter. He has played in several bands over the years, including DOMINANT SPECIES, CAROLINA REVUE, JERRY SIMMONS & THE DAYBREAKERS, SOUTHERN ECSTASY, SURVIVAL, MILLER ROAD, EASTERN SKY, THE CROSSTONES, THE BEATNECKS (a BEATLES tribute band) and SILVER COUNTRY. Additionally, he has performed with former MARSHALL TUCKER BAND guitarist GEORGE McCORKLE. Other musicians Tom has played with over the years include TOMMY BELK (BOZ SCAGGS), FRED SCHLAFLY (JOHN LEE HOOKER), RODNEY TAYLOR (HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH), and GARY "CUBBY" CULBERTSON (SWINGIN' MEDALLIONS). Tom also handles drums when Nick is playing other instruments.
NICK REEVES (DRUMS) Outside of Tom, Nick is the only other member of SALUDA remaining from the band's original lineup. Nick drummed for CROSSROADS prior to joining SALUDA and also plays harmonica, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass, etc. He is also a magician par excellence.
GARY SMITH (GUITAR/BANJO/MANDOLIN/BASS/VOCALS) How many musicians can honestly say they got work in a band by walking in declaring "I want a job!" and actually getting it? Gary Smith can. Gary joined SALUDA in October 2002 replacing steel guitarist Walt Fern and handles many stringed instruments and covers for Tom on bass when Tom is playing guitar or keyboards. Gary also sings and writes for the band. Gary's resume is a virtual "who's who" of local musicians and bands, among them: THE CANNIBIS MOUNTAIN BOYS, THE HILLSIDE RAMBLERS, HIDDEN GUN, BODA, SOUL HARVEST, MIKE RODGERS, and BENNIE SARGENT.

TONY BURNS (LEAD GUITAR/VOCALS)Tony joined SALUDA in October 2002 succeeding previous lead guitarists Gary Ferrand and Ken West. Tony and Tom are old friends, having played together in THE CROSSTONES. Tony's singing and playing has helped the band update its repretoire immensely.
JEFF BAGWELL (SIX AND TWELVE STRING GUITARS) From die-hard SALUDA fan to full-fledged band member, Jeff joined SALUDA in November 2002. Jeff also supplies the band with some of its equipment as well.
