Swan Background Set

Swans are one of my favorite birds. They are truly lovely and graceful, and I have very fond memories of camping on the Starnbergersee in Bavaria, and a family of swans who came gliding in to the campground every evening around sunset.

Swans are sometimes associated in fairy tales with women who could turn themselves into swans, and there is an old song, sung by Loreena McKennit nowadays, about a lady who was drowned by her sister over a man they both loved, who turned into a swan.

The swan pictured in these graphics is a mute swan.
