I left Orange County, CA around 1:00 and my mom and I headed for Santa Monica Airport where the show was being taped. There was REALLY bad traffic so we didn’t get there until around 2:30. There was only about 15 other people there and all of us were Nsync fans. Although I was the only one that loved Britney! All the security gave us the ‘run around’ saying they didn’t know anything. But, my mom and I left the other girls and talked to people. This guy on the corner (he directed the traffic and limos) told me that Nsync had come for rehearsal around noon and came in a taxi cause something was wrong with their limo or something. Britney had come earlier in a limo like all the other people had. Anyways, so we went down by the red carpet but the security was REALLY bad and wouldn’t let us near it...ugh!!!!
Later, I noticed a lot of the girls crossing the street and they went into a building. I followed them into the airports information center and went behind a door that had private phones and bathrooms. The door at the end of this hall had a square cut out in the bottom of it. I could hear Blink 182’s sound check going on!!!! Unfortunately I missed both Britney and Nsync’s!!! BecauseI got there later then most people. Soon the security found us and made us leave and locked the building up. We got turned away everywhere we went.
Anyways, so my mom and I ditched the other girls (who had given up hope...HEHE) and talked to my friend on the corner!!!! Just then a black 4-runner type of jeep pulled up and on my side of the street in the car window was Jordan Knight!!!!!! Of course I had my camera out so I smiled and waved and he smiled back..so I got his pic...he is actually REALLy cute in person!!! Of course my mom couldn’t believe it was Jordan Knight...hehe.
Soon, a limo pulled up and they pulled away..the guy at the corner said it was Nsync...so OF COURSE I bolted down the street toward it. It turned out it wasn’t them but I saw tons of stars..Jennifer Love Hewitt, Brandy, Allyson Hannigan and ALL these others. In a split second out walked Britney she was wearing these amazingly cool pink pants with like round tassels on them and a pink shirt plus these strappy sandles which matched the outfit. Not thinking I yelled out “Britney” and she looked my way and smiled!!! Which was unbelievably cool because there was like no one else from the general public around except about 7 guys.
Then the security told us to move down the street and away...So my mom and I hid behind a car waiting to see something and I looked across the street and OH MY GOD!! I like freaked cuz I saw Joey’s hair (bright red) and then he turned around and I saw his face and then Lance. They were by their trailer and then Chris stepped out and then I saw Justin’s head...but no JC...
All of a sudden, they started coming out of a gate right across the street like heading right toward us!!! I started crying for some reason (I don’t even know why!!!! it was weird) and then they all walked by!!! I couldn’t believe it!!!!!! Then a security guard spotted us snapping pictures and said he had warned us long enough and told us we had thirty seconds to get off the property or he was gonna call the police!!!! EVIL EVIL EVIL MAN!!!!!
So, we headed back the other way back to the previous gate where all the other fans had been except they were gone! The girl who worked there said they had left and said after her manager left she would let us in to see if we could see something (since it lead right to the airplane hanger it was being held in) I nearly flipped out!!!! Just then a black Mercedes droveup and it was a guy who worked as Britney Spears’ assistant....he couldn’t get in cuz he didn’t have a VIP pass....IT WAS SO FUNNY! I which I was him though because he gets to work with her everyday!
A few minutes later these 3 girls walked up. The one was blond with MAJORLY hot pink shoes on and a white cowboy hat and the other one had this blue fuzzy thing on...well anyways, I said to my mom...God look at those ugly shoes!!!! Thank GOD they didn’t hear me!!!!
They walked up to the gate to get in at 5:35 and handed the girl their tickets. She said where is your fourth person and they said she couldn’t come, we have an extra! I SWEAR THEY WERE SENT FROM GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said “Can I have it?” And so they gave it to me!!!! 12th row ticket!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it. It turned out that the manager let my mom in too!!!! So, I got in camera and all and so did my mom!!!! I was even in jeans and sneakers and on the ticket it says you can’t wear em!!!
So, I got in and got seated (it was a DAMN good seat!!!!) but my mom had to sit high in the bleachers..oh well. She could see Nsync and Britney Spears in their seats which I couldn’t which sucked!
At around 6PM the show started. Britney Spears came out and welcomed everyone. And explained how this was the first ever Teen Choice Awards voted and picked by the fans. She had a new outfit on now it was white with sparkles. Blink 182 performed and awards were given. They are all kind of a blur cuz I was so excited!!!!! I do know that Nsync won best album and Britney won best single (or song) of the year.
Christina Aguilera was the next to perform and she was REALLY good. I had never seen her in person before and so I was shocked when I saw how skinny she was! She looked cool. She had peddle pushers on with like one side with fringe and a bright pink low cut top that tide in the back as I recall. She had some guy dancers with her and she did the same dance as in the ‘Genie In A Bottle’ music video. It was a good performance!!!
More awards were given and then they began setting up for Nsync. OMG!!!! They were so good!!! I was so happy that I can’t even remember what they had on although I know they did change from their previous outfits on the show. They stood in this order Lance, Justin, JC, Joey, and then Chris. Lance looked amazing! They sang “The Music of My Heart” with Gloria Estefan (she was good too) and at the end of the performance JC kissed her on the cheek and then Justin threw his arms in the air and smiled...it was SO SWEET!!!!
Once again more awards came and went and then Britney Spears came on as the last performer. She had on like a two piece white leather sequined outfit and it looked amazing!!! She came down a set of stairs and started to sing ‘Sometimes’ REALLY slowly and I couldn’t understand why. But, then drums went crazy and she danced this GREAT number and was REALLY good and then all of a sudden the beat went into ‘Crazy’ and she started singing and did her routine from her new video which was even better live! She was spectacular and put on a REALLY GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!
She was the final act for the show and then Luke Perry, Ian Zering, and Jennie Grath closed it after they gave awards to Adam Sandler and Jennifer Lopez.

The place was packed with stars including all of the above and Matthew McConohay (how do u spell that??) Casey Keegan (Andrew’s Bro- he sat behind me!!!! and gave Tara Lipinski a HUGE hug!), Carson Daly, Dr. Drew and the other guy from Loveline, Ali Landry, Beverly Mitchell, Jenna Leigh Green, Monica, Minny Me, The guy who plays Jax on GH (HE IS DAMN FINE!!!!!!!!!!!), Melissa Joan Hart, 702, LFO, Tyrese, Kellie Martin (from ER), and others I KNOW I am Forgettting.
