JAMES BOYD, born c1824, came to Australia from Wicklow,Ireland c1851 and our first encounter with him is when he married MARY ANN DELANEY at Yass, NSW on 11th October, 1862. They had a son, also called JAMES, on 13th August, 1864, who was born at Blackney Creek. James senior's occupation is listed as farmer.
For reasons unknown to the current researchers, Mary Ann and James did not stay together and in 1867 Mary Ann Boyd and James Hendry registered a son born to their relationship. They went on to have a further seven children together between 1867 and 1882 and were obviously not married to each other as Mary Ann was still married to James Boyd at least up until his death at Wargeila NSW in 1878.
For further details on Mary Ann & James Hendry, see the HENDRY HISTORY.
Mary Ann Boyd nee Delaney later married Michael Powell, for further details see the POWELL HISTORY.
Mary Ann Delaney/Boyd/Powell died 11th September 1929 and was buried in the Roman Catholic portion of the Murringo cemetery beside Michael Powell, who died 1st November 1901.
