Photos of Eucalyptus globulus

Mature leaves beginning to develop on a young E. globulus in my garden.  This is about as far as this tree got before it was crushed to the ground by a snowstorm in November 2001.  It would have frozen eventually anyways.

Adult leaves and trunk of E. globulus in a private garden in Pistol River, Oregon.  E. globulus has naturalized all along the California coast as far north as Langlois, Oregon (just north of Port Orford).

Juvenile leaves and trunk of E. globulus at Jungle Fever Exotics, Tacoma, WA.  This is probably an all too familiar sight for coastal Californians!  E. globulus often gets quite large before making the transition to adult foliage, which looks very different.  This tree froze in December 1998.

Seed capsules of E. globulus.

E. globulus ssp. bicostata, New Zealand Southland.  This subspecies is much hardier than "plain old" globulus.  Photo courtesy of Milligan Seeds and Trees.

Juvenile leaves of E. globulus var. compacta, a form of uncertain botanical standing, Vashon Island Botanic Gardens, Washington.
