Heart Knowledge

I love it when God teaches me something new. Usually what He teaches me is something that I've had as head knowledge for a long time. When God teaches me these things, this head knowledge turns into heart knowledge and solidifies. I have never before had such conviction about these points, which is why I would like to share them with you now. As God teaches me more things, I will add them on to the list. I hope that they will encourage your heart.

• The ultimate example of a servant leader was in the person of Jesus Christ - God came as a man and washed the feet of the disciples: "[Jesus], being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death- even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is abover every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on eart and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:6-11
• It is only when we realize that we are nothing and that God is everything that we can ever do anything.
• I know nothing about being a leader, therefore it can only be Christ in me who leads.
• When we give God our plastic jewelry he gives us the real thing (please understand that this is symbolic!)
• It is only in God's will that I am free!

• True renewal can only come through Christ.
• God wants us to trust Him with EVERYTHING in our lives.
• God is faithful about his promises.
• God is able to fulfill His promises.
• This is not my home! Since my hope is not in what happens in this life but in eternity with Jesus Christ, I can have faith that God will do what he has promised.
• My life on earth is not all there is.
• God's picture is the only big picture.
• God's timing is not my timing.
• Even though you think you've learned enough, God keeps teaching you.
• The only way to truely understand joy is to experience what it is like to not have it for a while
• When God tells you about something that will become a reality in your life and you start to see it happening, you had better keep trusting Him!
• Learn to trust your instincts, because God gave them to you.
• There is a good reason why there was communication between the believers in the Bible.
• The only way to give stuff over to God is to do just that - GIVE IT OVER TO GOD!!
• God blesses us when we are obedient to what he has called us to do.
• People are an amazing gift, each one is a treasure to be found.
• God answers prayer in His timing, and WOW is that ever good timing! I always think I know what would be best, but when I find out what God's plan was all along, it's SO much better than anything I ever could have thought up.
• God is the healer of all wounds of the soul.
• God has called us to make disciples of ALL THE NATIONS (not just those in Canada or the USA, but also not neglecting these)
• God is working throughout the world in ways that I cannot understand, being from a western culture. He us moving hearts toward revival in huge numbers.
• Some wisdom from the lips of my world religions/missions professor: "God is in the business of moving people so that they may hear the word of God"
• Never make 2AM decisions, and try not to trust what seems logical after being awake for 36 hours.
• "Sometimes God will lead you to do things that you will not fully understand until after you have done them." -Experiencing God
• Sometimes God's will only makes sense in hindsight
• "Do not doubt in the dark what God told you in the light"
• God can make our souls as white as snow through the forgiveness found in Jesus Christ.... "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18
