AT LAST … A SOFT HAMMER
The steel hammer is a deadly missile
that can maim or kill. Not every throw lands where it is supposed to and
even the most experienced thrower may walk carelessly across the impact
area from time to time.
99.67% of an athletes throwing time
is spent in drills and practice, so we have developed a soft, much safer
practice hammer to greatly reduce the inherent dangers. We have even eliminated
the stiff, dangerous wire and use a flexible, vinyl coated cable. Not only
is the soft vinyl ball safer, but it will partially flatten on impact and
only smudge the grass. No more holes that have to be filled and re-seeded.
A rusty steel hammer hurtling through
the sky is difficult to see, but our brilliant orange soft hammer catches
you attention instantly.
Both the outdoor hammer and indoor throwing
weight are based on a rugged 8 inch vinyl ball for now. Other sizes may
be available later.
SPECIAL DRILL PRACTICE HAMMERS
AND THROWING WEIGHTS
For women try an 11 pound, 36 inch hammer.
For high school boys a Soft Hammer that’s 15 pounds, 36 inches and college
men, one that’s 18 or 20 pounds, 36 inches long . For indoor throwing
weights try a few pounds lighter for speed drills or a few pounds heavier
for strength drills.
The extra weight slows it down but the
shorter length speeds it up so that the timing remains similar to a regulation
size implement. It will not travel as far, so requires a smaller throwing
area and allows more throws per training session.
