Q: Why did you choose to use a Dynaudio woofer in this design
?
There are certainly many less expensive woofers we could have used. However, none
could match the linear response of this woofer to a transient. THERE IS NO DYNAMIC
COMPRESSION OF MUSIC TRANSIENTS. This woofer features a 4" voice coil and an
exclusive center magnet design which together greatly reduces distortion and increases
power handling (rated THD of < 1% at 90 db at 30 hz).
We know of no woofer of similar size, at any price (not even motion feedback designs)
with as wide a band width with lower distortion and dynamic compression.
