WHAT WE ARE?

The Detroit Hobby Club Workshop is a non-profit organization that offers a program which consists of computer tutoring, theory and technology to train computer skills to those in need

The DHC was originally a club centered around the design, repair and assembly of scale weight aircrafts, autos and train layouts. Some with operational capabilities while others serve solely as exhibit pieces. These services are also available if desired.

WHAT IS A+ CERTIFICATION
A+ certification is a National Standard that certifies a Technicians competency in the PC industry.

Many computer resellers and service companies today are required by hardware vendors to have A+ certified personnel on staff to ensure that they are capable of providing high quality, authorized service for their clients.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:


* To equip individuals with marketable technology skills

* To increase the employability, standard of living and self-esteem of at risk youths and young adults

* To equip individuals with a professional trade skill compatible with the growing IT market

* Hands-on training in computer repair and maintenance

* Computer based training and practice exams pertaining to A+ certification

The training model for A+ certification allows for six months or a minimum of 480 hours of both hands-on work, study materials and CBT based practice tests.

Participants receive knowledge covering hardware, software, technology principles, setup and installation of PC related products.

As part of the training each program participant will receive a computer**after they become A+ certified as part of the program

DHC also offers Fax, Complete Resume, copy and Notary Public with seal services.

*Total hours based on 5 hours per day, 4 days a week, Mon. - Thur. 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. days & times are subject to change based on accomadating the program participants work and school schedule.
