FIRST GENERATION HANG TAG |
The first generation hang tag was introduced in early 1994. It's a single red heart tag with small white "ty"on the front. The type on the reverse side: "The Beanie Babies Collection" underligned, "the name of the beanie baby followed by T symbol and the style #", "c 1993 Ty Inc. Oakbrook, IL. USA All Rights Reserved." "Caution: Remove this tag before giving toy to a child, for ages 3 and up." "Handmade in China" (or) "Handmade in Korea" and "surface wash". For the European market,"CE" was added on the bottom of the tag. First generation hang tags came only on beanies with first generation tush tag dated 1993. |

SECOND GENERATION SWING TAG |
The second generation swing tag was introduced in spring, 1994. It has the same small white "ty" on the front of the red heart, but instead of being a single two-sided heart, it opens like a locket and has four sides. The inside left of the tag has "The Beanie Babies Collection" underligned, followed by where it was meant to be sold (North America, United Kingdom or Germany) and the same words as in the first generation tag back side except for the beanie's name and style #. The inside right of the tag has the Beanie's name followed by T symbol and it's style #, followed by the lines "to__________", "from__________", "with" and "love". The back of the heart has a bar code above the words: "Retain this tag for reference". Second generation swing tags came on Beanies with first generation tush tags dated 1993 or 1995. |

THIRD GENERATION SWING TAG |
The third generation swing tag was introduced in spring, 1995. It has the "ty" on the front printed in balloon style font large enough to almost the full size of the heart shape. Besides the font style and the more rounded shape of the heart, the third generation tag is identical to the second generation swing tag on the inside right and left and the back of the heart. The third generation swing tags came on Beanies with first generation tush tags dated 1995 and second generation tush tags dated 1993 and 1995. |

FOURTH GENERATION SWING TAG |
The fourth generation swing tag was introduced in spring, 1996. It featured many changes. The "ty" on the front of the heart has a different font style and a yellow star is added to the upper right with the words: "Original Beanie Baby". The inside left of the tag has "The Beanie BabiesT Collection" underligned (note the addition of the T symbol), followed by a list of: "c Ty Inc. Oakbrook, IL. U.S.A.", "c Ty UK Ltd. Fareham, Hants P015 5TX", "c Ty Deutchland 90008 Nurnberg" and the phrase: "Handmade in China" or "Handmade in Korea". The inside right of the tag has the Beanie's name followed by T symbol and it's style #, followed by: "date of birth" then by a poem and an invitation to visit Ty web site. The back of the heart reads: "Please remove all swing tags before giving this item to a child" followed by a bar code then the words: "Retain this tag for reference For ages 3 and up", followed by: "surface wash". The fourth generation swing tags came on Beanies with third generation tush tags dated 1993, 1995 and 1996 as well as fourth generation tush tags with the star added to the upper left of the Ty red heart. |

FIFTH GENERATION SWING TAG |
The fifth generation swing tag was introduced in early 1998. It featured a new typeface inside the yellow star as well as the font on the inside of the tag. The inside left of the tag has "The Beanie Babies Collectionr" underligned (note the omition of T after "Babies" and the addition of r after "Collection"), followed by a list of: "c Ty Inc. Oakbrook, IL. U.S.A.", "c Ty Europe Ltd. Fareham, Hants P015 5TX, U.K.", "c Ty Canada Aurora, Ontario" and the phrase: "Handmade in China" or "Handmade in Korea" or "handmade in Indonisia". The inside right of the tag has the Beanie's name followed by T symbol, the style # is gone, followed by: "date of birth" then by a poem and simply Ty web site address, "visit our web site" was deleted. The back of the heart is identical to the back of the heart on the fourth generation swing tag. The fifth generation swing tags came on Beanies with fifth and sixth generation tush tags. |
