According to encyclopedias and geography books, Datça is a village in the province of Mugla.
In fact Datça is not only a village by the sea, but a way of life, a love.
Datça charms anyone who goes there with the color of its sea, the greens of its shores, the warmth of its inhabitants. It is a place that has a miraculously positive and uplifting effect on those who are struggling with the constant demands of everyday life. From artists to businessmen, Turks to Americans, Germans and other Europeans, this Aegean and Mediterranean part of Turkey is for everyone. Those who come from cold, or sun lands, have all undergone an invigorating metamorphosis when visiting Datça. They have left their jobs, deserted their native towns to live here.
Datça is not a fad….Like mythological cities of the past, it does not let go of those who see it. Its sea, its shores, its history, its inhabitants form a whole, influencing visitors and rendering their life experience utterly blissful.

Datça is located at the most South West Point of Turkey, where the Mediterranean meets the Aegean Sea. On a clear day, you can see Greek islands Symi and Rhodes. Datça is 74 km from Marmaris.
Datça also can be reached by sea by taking a Ferry from Bodrum (The ancient Halicarnassus, which was a major Mediterranean port before Christ. The Mausoleum built at Bodrum by Artemisia for her husband Mausoleum was also one of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World.)
There is also, twice a day, a sea bus service which takes an hour from Bodrum to Datça.
The historical city of Cnide (Knidos) is also situated at the tip of Datça's peninsula. The Splendid City of Cnide had an observatory and medical school in ancient times. Today you can see the two doors of the Acropolis, the theater and the remains of the Dionysos and Appollon's temple.

SAKLIKOY IN DATÇA.

It is located 1.5 km from the center of town or Marina, on the way to "Kargi koyu". This housing complex, which is situated next to "Villa Carla" , a German Hotel, looks over the Greek Islands of Symi (Sombeki) and Rhodes (Rodos). The view from the top of a cliff also reveals two beautiful picturesque bays at the foot of the hills. The atmosphere is utterly breathtaking.
