BRIAN GOES ON A RANT

This may come as a surprise to many of you Plattsmeth (oops, I mean Plattsmouth) people, but the picture of the guy right above me is a GOD. Yes, that's right, he's a GOD. It took me moving to a bigger town to understand some good music (and yes, I know that everyone was trying to get me to listen to it before, but we all knew me and my closed mind, and things have...well...er...changed over the months), and Sir Robert Zombie heads the pack. Let me explain:

1. Sinister Urge. If you have not gotten this CD, or at least listened to it, then you are no longer in my will. Track-3 (Iron Head, with Ozzy!) is good, but for me, Tracks-7 (Feel So Numb) and 10 (Scum Of The Earth) are the best. Shit, they all rock, but those 3 stick out as the "ones to hit rewind to".

2. American Made Music To Strip By. Ok, so they're remixes of his Hellbilly Deluxe CD (why deluxe? was there a "regular"?). But, the remix of Living Dead Girl is awesome, and Dragula is cool already. The others are nice twists on the originals, but little jumps out.

3. Hellbilly Deluxe (again with the deluxe). Ok, this is what got me hooked on Rob Zombie to begin with. I don't know why, and I've never sat down to try to figure it out, but HD was my taste of Rob Zombie, and it was far better than the bitter taste of Marilyn Manson. Sorry, but ol' MM has now proven that you can take bad 80's songs and make them worse (ala Sweet Dreams and Tainted Love). Rob Zombie action figure, Rob Zombie t-shirts, Rob Zombie this and Rob Zombie that. All from the HD CD.

4. Supersexy Swinging Sounds (White Zombie). One of the better "old Zombie" stuff, mainly because they sound more in tune with Rob's "transformation" from White to Rob. Love Electric Head and More Human Than Human the best off these, although that Track-7 who's name escapes me has an awesome guitar run.

5. Astro-Creep: 2000. This was given to me by Tania, and although I liked some of the tracks, I found myself listening to SSS more often. Still love More Human Than Human on this, mostly because of the intro.

Ok, so this was more of an impromptu review for Rob Zombie, but what can I say? The man is a GOD.
