Grave site of Richard
Burresford GAHAN, Sarah (CLIFFORD) and Amelia GAHAN (nee LACK)Amelia GAHAN was the wife of
Benjamin GAHAN of Fyans Street, Geelong. They married 1857 in Geelong. She was buried 19 January 1883 aged 54. According to the cemetery records she was born in Devonshire, England and arrived "Clifton" - possibly the name of the ship. Richard Burresford GAHAN was buried 10 July 1885. He had died in hospital aged 87. Cemetery records state he too was born in England. Sarah CLIFFORD - cemetery records are unsure if this is her surname - is buried with Richard. She died in hospital 2 February 1883 aged 83. I am unsure of the relationship between Amelia and Richard and Sarah but it is quite possible they are her husband's parents.
John William GAHAN was born William Arthur John GAHAN in 1891, son of Arthur Michael GAHAN and Eliza Jane KENNAUGH of Collingwood, Victoria. Nellie Amelia GAHAN was born in Brunswick, Victoria in 1895, the second of four children born to Edward James Yeoman HUNT and Louisa LYONS. John and Nellie GAHAN are buried at Cheltenham Cemetery in Victoria.
