James Newton Gahan & Elizabeth Eaves

James Newton GAHAN (photographed here with Elizabeth in their later years) was born about 1843 in London, England. He was the son of John GAHAN, a painter, and Ann LEARY. James married Elizabeth EAVES, daughter of Samuel Abel EAVES, a schoolmaster, and Caroline LEWIS, on 23 October 1865 in Fitzroy, Victoria. Elizabeth was born about 1847 in London, England. James Newton GAHAN died 29 September 1911, registered in Fitzroy South, Vic. His wife, Elizabeth GAHAN died 15 September 1922, registered in Collingwood. They are buried together in Melbourne General Cemetery.
