Are any of you into growing herbs?  I found this excellent website:

I Dream of Peace

Racist.  Sexist.  Humanist.  I refuse to be a humanist, holding human life more sacred than all other sacred lives on beautiful Mother Earth.

Canstruction.  Go to this website to see how you can give.  Look at the can art while you are there.  What kind of sculpture should be made?

Cardboard is Fantastic. Did You Know That?
I'm having a fantastic time and it's all because of cardboard. Well, cardboard, paper and glue.   My clothes have glue and paper mache paste all over them but I'm not making a mess over anything else by working methodically.  Everything's groovy and zen. Want to see a website I visited?  Go here.

Does Anybody Need to Convert Anything to Something?
If this is necessary, go 01conversion.com. I found out that 1 speed of light (vacuum) = 908,461.994 speed of sound (in the air). You can find both obscure and ordinary conversions here.

Digital Images from Optical Microscopy - Beautiful Vitamin D
This website awes me. What's so terrific is that it gives readable explanations and images of optical microscopy. Not that I got too far into the text but to have a beginning of a realization of the science to get this image of Vitamin D is something else. Who knew? There is a wild assortment of beautiful microscopic images on this site for you to admire.

Journey to Dreamland
Reading the Journey to Dreamland - Maxims of Master Han Shan at the Zen Buddhist Order of Hsu Yun website inspired me to want to know about Master Han Shan. I found this wonderful Word document: "The Autobiography & Maxims of Master Han Shan, 1546-1623", translated by Upasaka Richard Cheung and paraphrased by Rev. Chuan Yuan (Ming Zhen) Shakya, OHY.

Pema Chodron
I'm currently reading "The Places that Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times" by Pema Chodron, Buddhist teacher. She is friend/teacher to Jarvis Jay Masters, a Buddhist writer living on death row. I find Pema Chodron's work very comforting. I like her short essay on the "Bodhisattva Vow". What essays do you like?

Pledge to Live the Paradoxical Life
You can read The Paradoxical Commandments here, written by Kent M. Keith in 1968. Take the pledge to live the Paradoxical Life. Print out your Challenge certificate and hang it on the wall.
Mother Teresa had a copy hanging on her wall. She added the following stanza to the end: You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Palm of the Hand Stories
by Yasunari Kawabata. I had this book once. I lost it in a move. If I only had one book to read for the rest of my life, it would be this one. I still think about the stories I read years later. Here's a link to Library Thing where you can look at books other people own. If you find any links to "Palm of the Hand Stories", please let me know. Sigh. It's a small book with many very, very short stories.

"I Don't Need for the Rocks to Yell at Me. I Always Speak to Them Anyways".
This is a quote from a modern Catholic mystic, Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast living in western New York. Read this thought-provoking profile by John Horgan, author of "Rational Mysticism: Dispatches from the Border Between Science and Spirituality." There are many amazing reads here by this author.

Is Religion a Virus of the Mind?
I like this idea of memes. I can understand religion as a virus of the mind. How about you? Susan Blackmore writes about memes and good reasons for legalizing drugs in other articles. Go. Read. I like it. I like it.

Ready for Some Fun? You Might be a Dogster
This here is a Pow Wow Pup aka Precious Pup. But remember, they are all precious pups. Don't forget to leave a bone for one or two. You can find dogs to adopt here. Post your pup's pic. Yes, this place could be called silly but it's so much fun. Eeps, but there's even a place for cats. Guess what it's called?
