Having only been playing bass for about five years, Dan "Turtle" Wilson is a relative
newcomer to the blues. His influences range from Beethoven to Les Claypool,
but his primary blues influences are Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King and Steve Anderson,
who first introduced him to the blues.
"When Steve first asked me to jam with the band, I saw it more as a side project
than anything. But, after a few practices I'm starting to really enjoy playing with these guys
and I'm learning a lot more about the blues, as well."
Turtle's funk and classical influences put a unique slant on his playing,
whether it be a mellow, jazzy walking bass line or a funky slapping solo. "My goal with this band is to include
some fresh sounds while keeping the feeling of the blues intact."
