It is with mixed emotions that I announce "The Joe Bonamassa Fan Website" will be retired (at least in it’s current form and location) on May 23, 2008 - on the 5th anniversary of it's creation.

The Joe Bonamassa Fan Website was created to fill a need. We needed a location for current tour updates, as this information was rarely updated on Joe’s Official Website. That tour schedule is now regularly updated. We needed a place to share fan photos from Joe’s live shows. The photo gallery on Joe’s Official Website now far exceeds anything the Fan Website ever offered – not to mention the new “Joe TV” video player! Most importantly, we needed a home base for starting and operating Joe’s new Street Team. A new Street Team website has now been established, and some of the resources previously hosted here will be transferred to the new Street Team website during the next several weeks.

It’s been a lot of fun over these past 5 years…from the caption contests, the t-shirt and sticker sales, the street team activities, the flier downloads, the family photo album, the “samples” page used for signature files, the “show us your sticker” photos, the unofficial forum, etc, etc. But the reality is, we’ve run our course. The needs which this website once filled are now being filled by other locations (and being done much more professionally too).

The chat room will be maintained until a new home can be found. It is my hopes that the Street Team website, or possibly even Joe’s official website, will agree to host the chat room. We will keep you posted.

Between now and May 23rd, please feel free to use, copy and/or save anything from the fan website. The only thing I ask is that you respect and act responsibly with any copyright-protected material such as Joe’s lyrics, song samples, Peter Max artwork, etc. What I’m trying to say is that while there is some copyright-protected material on the website, nothing about the website itself is copyrighted.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you who have help with, and contributed to, this website. From photo contributions, street team ideas, lyric submissions, promotional efforts, and countless other things that escape my memory…thank you!

FINAL UPDATE: When I cancelled my hosting plan (thinking I would be good to the end of the billing cycle), I learned I'm not such a good thinker! May 16th, 2008. A week earlier than expected. Thanks again, we'll see you down the road...
