"You did make us reservations, didn't you?" Zara asked as she opened the car door and stretched her arms above her head, sighing at the comfort she felt from being out of the tiny space that the car provided. It wasn't easy being a tall person and riding in a small car.
"Of course I made us reservations, Zara..I'm the smart one of this operation," Heather joked as she got out of the car and made her way to the revolving doors. Once the two girls made it to the check-in desk, Heather rested her body up against the counter and smiled at the man who was working the area in which she was standing. "I have a reservation for Heather Packard."
The man punched in a few keys on the computer keyboard before looking up at her and smiling. "Your room is ready for you...two double beds, right?"
"That would be correct," she said as she reached into her purse and pulled out her credit card before Zara had a chance to even attempt to pay the bill. Once the two girls had the key to their room, the left the hotel lobby and pulled around to the side to park their car. "Look over there!"
Zara looked to the side and rolled her eyes when she saw two big buses parked on another level of the parking lot. "Please don't tell me you're going to act all teenybopper on me now, Heather..this is something serious that we need to concentrate on."
"I'm not going to like run over there and lick the bus or something! Please, I'm not that hung up on the guys..but just think..their sexy beings have touched that bus."
Zara rolled her eyes before getting out of the car and grabbing her duffle bag. "What room are we in?"
"Umm..room four twenty," Heather said, grabbing her two bags that she had brought along with her. She wasn't a very light packer and brought everything just in case she might need it.
"OK..we're at the hotel now what's your brilliant plan to get us to the guys floor and to one of their rooms?"
Heather smiled evilly as they waited for the elevator to arrive. "We just need to be some alcohol and some porno magazines...that way we'll be friends with their guards and they won't have a problem with us delivering our small little letter."
Zara almost fell away from the wall she was leaning on when she registered what Heather had said. "Dear Lord please tell me that you've got a better plan than that!"
Heather shrugged before stepping into the elevator after the doors had slid open. "I don't see what's so bad about my little plan. Guys like alcohol and guys like porn..put them together and you'll have very happy oversized stuff teddy bears who will let you give JC this damn letter so you can get over your little guilt trip."
"That won't work."
"I think it will!"
Zara sighed before shaking her head. "We're gonna have to go our room and think of a better plan than that! I don't want to bribe their guards..sneaking by them will be easier."
"I still think alcohol and porn is the secret ingredient in getting this plan working."
"I think you need your head examined," Zara said as she stepped off the elevator and looked at the numbers posted on the doors. "We're probably at the end of the hall."
"I've never stayed in this nice of a hotel..and I can't believe my first time is because I'm trying to help you give a damn letter to NSYNC...I've had dreams that this might happen, excluding the letter, but I never thought this would happen."
"Do you have any clue what floor they might be on?"
Heather shook her head before looking up at the door labeled 420, which was at the end of the hall on the right. "The only way I know to figure it out is to go into the main lobby and watch the lights on the elevator..whichever floor barely gets gone to is probably the floor they're on."
"I have to give you credit, Heather," Zara said as she walked into the room, her mouth opening slightly at the sight before her. "Oh my!"
Heather chuckled before throwing her bag on the bed closest to the door. "This is certainly nice..I think I could get use to this..but what were you saying about you have to give me credit?"
"Huh?"
Heather rolled her eyes before getting up and pushing Zara towards the other bed. "You were giving me credit for my BRILLIANT idea of how we're supposed to figure out what floor the guys are on."
"Oh yeah..I was just going to say I have to give you credit..you actually have a brain."
"Gee..you're such a caring friend."
"I know, Heather..I know."
"OK..one of us needs to go stand in the lobby and watch the elevators..I volunteer you because you're all ready a dork, so you'll fit right in," Heather said as she propped up the pillows and turned on the TV.
Zara sighed before getting off the bed and grabbing her purse. "I'll be back in a few minutes..hopefully this won't take long. I'd hate to be kicked out of this hotel and leave you all alone up here."
"I don't think I would mind that happening..I could just find some guy to come take your place..maybe a few of them at that."
"You're a walking ball of hormones," Zara mumbled as she made her way towards the door. 'I can't believe I've turned into a complete softy,' she silently thought to herself as she decided to take the stairs since it would be quicker. She snickered once she was walking down the stairwell at how much nicer the other part of the hotel was compared to this part. It was a shame really that the owners would spend so much money to make the outside look fancy, but leave the stairs looking nasty.
She wasn't the only one that had decided to take the stairs. Just a flight below her, two men were talking quietly to each other, not looking up to see that there was someone behind them. The more she began to look at the two, she started to notice that they looked familiar. "Ohmy."
The large black man turned around and looked in her direction before placing his arm on the other man. He leaned over and whispered something into the guy's ear before they sped up their pace. Zara inwardly groaned when she realized that she had just lost her chance to give one of the guy's the letter. She didn't know exactly which member was in front of her, but she knew it was one of them. She stopped and leaned against the wall, waiting on them to finish walking down the last flight that was left. "Great going," she whispered to herself. "You managed to make them think you're a stalker."
"Is something wrong, hunnie?" an older woman asked as she walked by Zara, looking at her with curious eyes as to why she was talking to herself.
Zara shook her head as she felt a blush burning her cheeks. She ran down the rest of the stairs and looked around to make sure that the two men still weren't around. 'Now..if I could only find which floor they were on, I could get this over with and enjoy a day of relaxation,' she thought to herself, a slight smile playing on her lips when she thought about relaxing in the hotel's sauna.
She casually walked over to the elevators and propped herself up against the wall, while the people around her carried on conversations. She couldn't help but tune into one of the conversations that was going on just slightly to her right.
"This was a good idea, Bobbie."
"I just hope Josh enjoys this..he was really pissed when I told him that I wasn't going to be able to make it for a while."
"Do you know what floor they're on?"
"I think its seven."
That was all the Zara needed to hear. She rode back up to her room, and smiled at Heather when she walked through the door. "They're on floor seven."
"How did you figure that out so quickly?"
"I heard two girls talking about some guy named Josh and how they hoped the guys liked this or something like that..anyways..its not important. Tonight we'll sneak up there while they're playing their show, slip it under one of their doors and we'll be done."
Heather wasn't convinced with all of this. "Who did you see talking?"
"One girl had blonde hair and the other had a reddish color."
Heather groaned before rolling her eyes. "You, Zara, overheard Britney Spears and Bobbie Thomas talking..that's Justin and JC's girlfriends."
Zara laid back on her bed as she looked at Heather. "I don't care who they are."
"Bobbie Thomas is so using JC for his status."
"Give me a break, Heather! I'm sure he loves her! You're acting like some teenybopper!"
"I'm just stating the truth!"
"You never have told me which member you like most," Zara said, surprised at her own thought.
"Like you would actually care!"
"I asked , didn't I?" she snapped before smiling sweetly.
"I like Justin..the boy is hot and he has a voice that puts chills on my arms. JC isn't too bad either..he has the prettiest eyes I've ever seen."
Zara remembered when she had first met JC at MUCH Music. She remembered the way his blue eyes had sparkled down at her as if he was enjoying her being in front of him. "He does have pretty eyes," she said softly, feeling chills coming over her arms.
Heather didn't say what she was really thinking in her mind, but she had a feeling that her hard-core friend was developing a small crush on a certain boyband popstar. The next step would be pushing Zara to admit it to herself, which wouldn't be the easiest thing. But Heather took this event as a sign that things were about to soften up for Zara, and she knew she had a front role seat to witness it.
