"For the last damn time, Jc..I can't come out there. You've talked to Johnny, and he won't change his mind. I'm not going to sneak out there.."
"Damn it, Whitney..you remember what I told you? I said that if I have to..I'll come and get your ass. If you're not on this flight that I've booked, then I will be at your door in an instant. I miss you, and its only been four days...I can't go a month like this."
"HE MISSES THE SEX WHITNEY!" Chris yelled in the background. She chuckled softly. "Is that true, Jc?"
He laughed. "Hell yes..now are you going to be a good girl and get on that flight?"
"I can't Jc.."
"Damn it, Whit, then you just wait..I can't come and get you tomorrow, but Saturday, I will be there to get you."
She laughed. "You do that."
"You don't think that I'm serious do you?"
"JC..you know what kind of trouble that could get you and me both into."
"I don't care..for once I'm thinking of me here."
She twisted the phone cord in her hand. "Not that I don't love talking to you, baby, but I've gotta go before I get in trouble with my boss."
"Screw him.."
"What's gotten into you, Jc? This new live on the danger side attitude..I like it.."
His voice changed to become low and husky. "Oh really? Well...if you like the attitude..I have the skills to go with it."
She laughed. "Jc, drink some cold water, and I'll talk to you soon. Love you babe," she said, waiting until after he had said goodbye and hung up, before she put the phone back down. It hadn't been two minutes and it rang again. "Jc..I told you..I can't sit here and listen to your sex talk right now.."
"Well, that's fine cause I don't feel like talking that way," Denise said, laughing.
Whitney giggled into the phone. "Sorry, Denise..I thought it was Jc calling yet again."
"Nah, its just me..but I wanted to see if you wanted to go do something tonight. I'm sick of sitting here at home."
"That sounds great."
"Then its set..I'll pick you up at 8, is that ok?"
Whitney laughed. '"It's a date, Denise..but don't tell Jc that I'm doing this..the thought of him finding out there's a chance that I might be bi, might scare the hell out of him.."
"Or might actually turn him on," Denise interrupted, bursting into a fit of giggles.
"I'll see you later, Denise," she said, and hung up the phone. It was time for a girl's night out on the town.
Whitney brushed her hair out, and made sure that she looked half way decent. After spraying on some perfume, she looked at the clock, and saw that she still had thirty minutes before Denise would be there. She picked up the phone and dialed the number to Jc's cell phone. After two rings he picked up, laughter in his voice. "Hello?"
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing."
"It's got to be something..you wouldn't be laughing about it."
She heard him shuffling in the background, then his voice came back over the line. "We were just reading some of the papers that are covering our little fight. You wouldn't believe some of these, Whit. Some of them are just plain comedy."
Whitney sighed. "I don't see how its funny."
"It just is..I mean..ok never mind. I guess you don't want to talk about it..so what are you up to? Are you missing me so much and have decided to get on the plane tomorrow morning?"
She chuckled. "You don't give up do you?"
"Nah, not when things are important to me."
"Well no, thats not what's going to happen. Denise called and asked if I wanted to do something, and we're going to probably go to a club or something."
"Wait...you get to go clubbin and we're stuck on a bus? That isn't fair! You should stay home and talk to me."
She plopped down on the couch. "And why do you think that? I mean, its not my fault that you had to run out and become famous.."
He chuckled softly. "God, I miss you.."
Her voice softened. "I miss you too..we don't have that much longer until we see each other."
"That's right..especially since Saturday I'm coming to get you."
"How many times have we been over this,Jc? You can't do that, and I know that you're seriously thinking about it. I don't want any fights between you and Johnny..and I know that he won't be happy to see me there.."
"I don't care, Whitney. For the last time, screw what he thinks."
"How about you come screw me?" she joked.
She heard him take in a deep breath. "Don't tease me like that."
"Jc you've not been gone that long..I'm sure that you're fine."
His voice becane low and husky, like it always did when he was trying to prove his point. "You wanna bet?"
She had tingles on her arm at the way his voice was deepening. "Jc..don't do this to me..please.."
He sighed. "God, I want you.." he said.
She smiled. "I want you to...but Denise is here, and I need to go. I'll talk to you later..I love you, baby..sweet dreams."
"They will definately be sweet..cause they will be about you."
"Awww..you're such a suck up..but I love it. Love you," she said, hanging up the phone and walking to the door, opening it for Denise. "I'm ready to go..by the way..where are we exactly going?"
Denise laughed. "I really don't have a clue..just wherever.."
"Well, before we go anywhere..can we get something to eat? I haven't ate since breakfast and I'm about to drop over from lack of substance.."
Denise laughed, as they walked out the door. "You're crazy...have you talked to Jc?"
Whitney couldn't hide her smile. "I've talked to him like six times a day and he's been gone just a couple of days.."
Denise laughed as she started her car. "Well, Justin's called me a lot too..it actually surprised me."
"When Justin becomes attached to something, he doesn't take any chances on losing it. He's really clingy..trust me.."
"Is Jc clingy?"
Whitney thought about if for a moment. "No, not really..I mean he has his moments..but for the most part, he understands when to give me space, and when to be there for me. I guess after so long, he just learns how to read me."
"Where do you want to eat?"
"How about just getting something simple like a burger? I mean, that sounds really good to me..even though those damn things are way fattening.."
She giggled. "This is our night..we can pig out if we want..hey its one night I mean..what's it going to hurt?"
"Not a damn thing..now pull in there..I want a whopper.."
"Ohh that sounds good.."
After the girl's had ate their food, they found a club. Denise parked the car, and they stepped out, hearing the music outside the club. "Damn..this place is packed," Whitney said, grabbing her ID out of her purse.
Denise nodded her head. "I agree..I feel weird coming without Justin. We met in a club..ok I know you know that..but ..ok I'm going to shut up now, because you already think I'm weird."
She laughed. "Nah, I don't think that..I mean hey look at me..I've put up with those five guys for so long, I'm use to weird stuff and weird people. I mean, Chris..damn that boy is just too strange."
They flashed their ID to the bouncer outside, and stepped in the club. It was packed. Denise looked at her watch. "It's 9:00...I have to work tomorrow but I don't have to be there until late...so do you wanna stay until like maybe 12 or so?"
Whitney nodded her head. "That's fine..I'll meet you at the door at 12..does that sound ok?"
Denise nodded her head, and made her way over to the bar, while Whitney headed out to the dance floor. Her eyes looked around, and she came to the conclusion that this was going to be boring. There wasn't a guy in there that she wanted to dance with. The only one that she wanted there was JC, and she knew that finding him in that crowd would never happen, considering that he was on a bus headed to God knows where.
She turned to go back towards the bar, when a hand stopped her. "Wanna dance, sweetheart?" a drunken voice slurred.
She looked at the guy and shook her head in disgust. "No," she said, firmly, pushing past the guy.
"Bitch," he muttered. She didn't pay him any attention, and walked to the bar. She found Denise sipping on a drink, and she tapped her on the shoulder.
"Denise, hun, I might head home..this place just doesn't seem to be happening to me."
Denise nodded her head. "I agree..I just keep waiting on Justin to come sit down beside me, and then us head to the dance floor. Do you just want to go back to my place and talk or something?"
Whitney nodded her head, and the two of started walking towards the door. As they were about to reach the door, Nsync's Bye Bye Bye the remix came on. Denise looked at Whitney. "Do you just want to dance to this song, and then head out?"
Whitney smiled. "That doesn't sound like too bad of a plan..." she said, as the girl's made their way to the floor. They had saw the dance so many times, that doing it just came natural to them. The songs that began to blast through the speakers, were good dancing songs, and the girl's ended up staying later than they thought they would.
When they finally left the club, both of them were tired and neither one felt like doing anything but going to sleep. The car ride back to Whitney's house was silent. It didn't take that long to get back, and Whitney had to dig deep to find the energy to get out of the car. She smiled back to Denise and waved good bye.
After she was inside, she walked over to the answering machine and hit play, to check the number of messages she had. She had to smile as she heard there were three, and undoubtedly, they were from JC. She was right. The first two were him, saying how much he missed her, and to make sure that she was going to be home tomorrow, and the third one was from her mom, asking if she was ok.
She looked at the clock, and decided to call Jc back, but first, she was going to check and make sure that Denise had made it home safely. She picked up the phone and dialed Denise's number. "Hello?"
"I was just callin to make sure that you made it home ok."
"I'm fine..I'm talking to Justin though, so I'll talk to you soon. Bye!"
Whitney chuckled softly, and hung up. She then punched in the number to JC's cell phone, and awaited for him to pick up. His groggy voice floated through just as she was about to hang up. "What do you want?"
She curled up on the couch and couldn't help but smile. "Sweetheart, is that anyway to answer the phone."
"Go away," he said, jokingly. Hearing her voice perked him right up.
"If you want me to leave you alone so you can sleep, I understand.."
"No you're fine. We have a day off..expect me tomorrow morning."
"You don't give up, do you?"
"Never. Johnny knows that you're coming..he's fine with it. You're work knows, I called them already about it."
She couldn't help but love him even more for his actions. "You're amazing, you know that?"
He smiled even though she couldn't see him. "Oh really?"
She laid her head down on the arm of the couch. "I can't wait to see you."
"The only thing we have to do, is make sure not to fight...if we do, Johnny said that your ass is gone."
"He doesn't have anything to worry about, I don't plan on fighting with you." She could hear sleep threatening to take over his body, and she knew that he needed sleep. "Go to sleep, Jc."
"Mmmm, no its ok..I want to talk to you."
"JC, listen to me, you're exhausted I can hear it in your voice..now go to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow."
"I love you, Shorty."
She chuckled softly. "I love you too, C. Now sweet dreams." The phone clicked in her ear, and she sighed. She was too tired to walk up to her room, so she allowed her body to shut down and go to sleep on the couch.
