Chapter Three

Jc leaned over to look at Whitney as she laid there asleep, and couldn't stop the smile forming on his lips. She looked so peaceful, and his heart was filled with love for her. He touched her face, and her eyes fluttered open to look up at him, and a gentle smile formed on her lips.

"Did you have a nice nap," he said, running his hands through her hair.

She laughed. "I really didn't enjoy the nap as much as I did the events leading up to the nap."

He grinned evily. "Anytime you want to do that, I'm sure I can arrange it." He said, bending down and kissing her. Her arms slinked around his neck, and the pressure was deepened, but they broke contact when Chris came barging through the door.

"Ohhh..round two I see. You guys..don't move."

Jc shot him a starnge look, but didn't move. He really didn't mind being pushed up against Whitney the way he was. A minute later, Chris returned with a camera and the rest of the guys including Stephanie and Denise. Joey whistled, while Chris took the picture.

Justin looked over at Whitney and then at Jc. The smile on her face, made him smile, but something inside of him didn't feel right. He tried to shake it off, but the more he thought about it, the more it bothered him. Why did it bother him so much that Jc was with Whitney? They had been friends for so long and he had never felt something like this. He had seen them get romantic with each other, and he had never gotten this feeling.

He looked over at Denise, and suddenly felt bad. He had feelings for Denise and they were definately stronger than the ones he thought he might have for Whitney, but stil it was wrong to even be thinking this way. She had told him she loved him, and he owed it to her not to hurt her. For the time being, he pushed the feelings down, and stopped thinking of it.

Once he came out of his daze, he didn't even realize that everyone had left except him and Whitney, and he looked over at her. "Where did everyone go?"

Concern filled her face, and she stepped towards him. "Justin, is something wrong? You kinda went into Justinland there for a few moments. Oh, and the guys are downstairs fixing to watch a movie. Denise is with them too."

He simply nodded his head, and turned to leave. Her voice stopped him.

"Justin, you're scaring me. Something is wrong. You've always been able to talk to me, and I think now is a good time for one of those private talks that we have sometimes with each other."

"But, Jc and Denise might miss us, and I really want to see this movie."

Her eyes narrowed. "You wouldn't be trying to get out of talking with me would you? And, besides, Justin, you've seen this movie like ten times. I think you can miss it once to talk to me and get me off your back."

He grinned evily, and stepped towards her. "Ohhh, and what if I don't want you off my back?" They had always been flirty with each other, and Jc had come to accept it. Denise on the other hand, he really didn't know how she handled it. It was just how they had always been, and he didn't see a need to stop.

"You're not getting out of this talk. So shut the door, sit down, and talk to me...Tell me what's on your mind baby..ohh bring it all to me...oops sorry kinda got carried away there."

He laughed as he closed the door. "Will you remind me why I let you hang out with me?"

She punched his shoulder playfully and grinned. "You know its the other way around. Why do I let you hang out with ME! heh, I guess I just feel sorry for your white boney ass."

He turned around and grabbed his butt. "This ass is not boney thank you. Here feel it and tell me what you think."

She put her hands up, and waved him off. "Maybe some other time. Like I said we aren't avoiding this talk."

In all honesty, he didn't want to have this talk. It wasn't that big of a deal yet, and he didn't know what to say to her. Plus, it would only cause trouble, and that was something he wouldn't want.

"Ok, whatever you say."

She stopped laughing and turned to look at him. "Justin, now tell me what the hell is bothering you. I know its something, and don't give me that crap that you are stressed because I learned to see through that a long time ago."

Denise walked upstairs to check on Justin, and when she heard voices, decided to listen to the conversation. She knew it was wrong but she couldn't help herself from hearing what they were talking about.

"Whitney, really I think you're over-reacting. Nothing is really wrong."

"Oh please. Justin Randall Timberlake, I've known you too long, and I know when something is on your brain. Now, you might as well tell me now so we save ourselves a lot of trouble, and we might actually be able to catch some of the movie."

Outside the door, Denise could feel the jealousy running through her. Why couldn't she be the one that knew when something was wrong and bothering him? Why couldn't she be the one to get him to open up to her? Frustration was builing, so she took a deep breath and returned to listening to the conversation.

"Shorty, really..nothing major is wrong. It's just that today during mine and Denise's little..umm adventure.." he paused, and outside the door, Denise smiled. She knew that during their adventure as Justin put it, had kept Whitney far from his mind, and that was a small goal achieved.

"Well, anyways..we were laying there, and she..she told me she loved me."

Whitney shrugged and looked at him. "And?"

"And what? She said she loved me."

"Whoa, Justin bud, calm down. What did you tell her?"

"I told her the truth. I told her that I liked her alot, but I was confused on if it was love or not."

"So, you're basically saying that you don't know if you love her. Why is it bothering you?"

"Whitney, I just don't want her to feel weird around me now just because I can't say those three little words."

She reached out and touched his arm. "Justin, don't rush it. Remember that's what you told me when I first thought I was in love with Jc. Just let it happen, and when you're ready, you will be able to say those words and actually mean them. Just give it time."

Outside the door, Denise actually wanted to thank Whitney. It was true. She longed to hear him say those words to her, but she didn't want them said with no meaning behind them. She stood up, and walked back downstairs. She didn't want to start anything, and it sounded as if their conversation was over anyways.

Justin pulled Whitney into a hug, and rested his head on her shoulder. Her arms drifted down his back and lightly touched his butt. His smile spread and he laughed.

"What are you doing shorty?"

"Proving you wrong. You're butt is boney."

He laughed, and they walked downstairs to catch the end of the movie.

When they reached downstairs, Whitney saw that Jc was sitting in a big lazy boy, and decided to join him. When she walked over, and stood over him. He gave her a lazy grin, and made no effort to scoot over for her to join him. Instead, he patted his lap and grinned evily.

She grinned sly, and looked around the living room. She saw that Chris was sitting in the other lazy boy, and she walked over to him, and plopped down in his lap. She looked over at Jc, and laughed at the expression on his face. He stood up, and walked over to her. He scooped her off Chris's lap and returned to his chair.

Everyone laughed and turned back to the movie. Justin was seated in between Denise and Lance, who were all sitting on the couch. He wrapped his arms around her, and smiled. He felt better now that he had talked about what was on his mind.

Denise actually felt at ease for once. She knew that he really did care for her, or he wouldn't let things linger on his mind. She just hoped that he knew how much she cared for him, and that he knew she'd do anything to keep him.
