Emily sat on Stephanie's bed and watched as her friend changed shirts for the millionth time. "What is this color saying?"
She sighed. "Damnit, Steph. That color looks fine. ALL OF THEM DID!"
Stephanie rolled her eyes. "Listen to me..I want action from him and I need something that screams that to him."
"Lance doesn't seem like the type to just screw someone on the first date."
Stephanie fluffed her hair before admiring her overall appearance. "I think this will do quiet nicely. Now listen to me..you're coming to the hotel with me..JC invited you over and its better than you staying here alone. Now change clothes into something presentable. We're leaving in ten minutes," she informed her before leaving the room.
Emily rolled her eyes before changing really quick. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and placed her sneakers on her feet. She walked down the stairs and saw that Stephanie was wanting on her, patients barely holding out. "Five bucks says you jump him before you guys set foot in the movies."
"I won't take that bet because I can't promise that it won't happen."
When they had reached the hotel, Stephanie had practically drug Lance out of the building, while Emily had been quiet around JC. She didn't know what to say to him. The only thing that would come to her mind was the fact that she wanted to know what type of problems he was facing. The only problem to that was she didn't have any clue on how to bring it up.
As the two of them sat there and watched a movie, she couldn't keep her curiosity leashed any longer. "JC..what is bothering you?" she asked him as a commercial came on.
He closed his eyes. "Just some problems..I'm sure that you don't want to hear about them."
She grabbed the remote and turned the tv off. "You've helped me and now its time that I returned the favor."
He groaned, not wanting to let anyone in on the pain that he was feeling. "Trust me..you don't.."
"But that's where you're wrong.. talk to me, Josh."
He opened his eyes to see her looking at him with sencerity. He took a deep breath. "My problems deal with the infamous subject..love."
He chuckled as he worked on her clothes. "You know you wouldn't have enjoyed it as much," he told her, before removing the shirt that she had been wearing.
She finally got the last button undone, before pulling his shirt from his arms. Her nails raked over his back and he groaned at the sensation it created. His lips captured hers, and he sent his tongue into her mouth, exploring any crevices that were present. She linked her arms around his neck, pulling him even tighter against her. His hands removed her of her bra, and he pulled back from her lips to admire her. His eyes sparkled. "You are beautiful, you know that?" he whispered to her.
She blushed before pushing him back gently and straddling his hips. She could feel his excitement, and knew that he was fighting with his control. She bent down and placed kisses on his chest, as his hips pushed up against her, letting her know that he was enjoying what she was doing. When her fingers played with his happy trail, he pulled her up to him. "Its not polite to tease.."
"Then I'll stop," she said, with enough seriousness to make him think that she was really going to leave. He tightened his grip on her before flipping them over so that he was on top. "Its time to get this party going.."
He chuckled. "Yeah I know what you mean.. how about we set in the back?"
She was silently cheering inside because the back was a great place to try and get something started. As she watched Lance slid over to the far right, she closed her eyes. She really did need to get a hold of herself because this sexual frustration that she was feeling was causing her to loose her mind. It wasn't like her to try and seduce a guy, especially since she hadn't known him more than two days. "I hope this movie isn't too scary," she said, trying to break the silence that was surrounding them. The opening previews hadn't even began to play yet, so it was safe to start a conversation.
He looked at her before flexing his arm. "Look at this muscles, baby...I'll protect you," he joked with her.
'God its hot in here,' she thought silently to herself as she laughed along with him, to cover up any emotion that she was giving away. Secretly, she was hoping for a private tour just to see how strong he was, but she wasn't about to let him know that. After another five minutes of making small talk, the opening previews began to role and all talking stopped. Stephanie kept sneaking glances at Lance, not knowing that he was doing the same thing with her. The lights dimmed to their fullest and they both got comfortable in their seats, each thinking of thoughts of each other.
Halfway though the movie, Stephanie was gripping his arm because the movie was getting scarey, and she didn't know if she was going to be able to handle watching anymore. "Are you ok?" he leaned down and whispered to her.
She looked up at him and nodded her head slightly. "I warned you that I don't like scarey movies," she said before buring her face into his arm as a gorry part came on.
He chuckled before wrapping his arm around her her shoulders and holding on to her tightly. "Trust me..its ok." Lance found it adorable how she was acting, because he hated it when a girl would try and act tough, when she was really wanting to act differently, and he was enjoying seeing Stephanie attach herself to him the way that she was. In a way, he didn't want the movie to end because he knew she'd move away from him. He passed another glance at her face before turning his attention back to the movie.
"My girlfriend and I broke up four days ago...I believe it was one of the hardest things that I've had to go through," he began, turning so that he was facing her. "I'm still in shock that she actually told me that it was over...and I just can't accept her explanation that she gave me."
"What reason did she give you?" Emily inquired.
"She told me that she couldn't handle the pressure of having a relationship with someone famous..and at first, I believe her because I thought it could be true...but over the past few days, I've thought about it, and I just can't accept it. We had been together for so long, and I thought we had a bond that could overcome all of that.. apparently, she had other thoughts about it."
"Josh..I'm sorry..."
JC kept going, not paying any attention to the fact that she had spoken to him. "She was so beautiful..her hair, lips and eyes..but most of all, her personality was beautiful. I tried to give her everything that she wanted, and I called her every night, no matter where we were..but I guess that wasn't enough for her," he said, the last part coming out bitter.
Emily opened her mouth to say something, but he continued on with what he was saying. "I would come home and surprise her with candy and flowers...write her little songs and notes..I tried to be good to her..but she didn't see how much I loved her.." he said, his anger beginning to resolve into tears. "I love her so much," he whispered before looking at Emily, who had now moved to sit beside him.
She reached out and hugged him, silently letting him know that she understood. "Josh..its going to be ok..."
"How do you know that?" he questioned her his eyes looking at her with no hope in them.
"How do you know that I'm going to survive my relationship with Riley? I have a feeling that you will find someone to treat you and love you the way that you should be."
"I don't see how a man can treat someone like you, who is sweet and caring, the way that he does. Emily...you're a magnificient person..you deserve to find someone to love and respect you."
She sighed and nodded her head. "Not to sound conceded, but I know that you're right. All humans deserve to be treated with respect."
The two of them smiled at each other, before resuming a comfortable position and continuing to watch the movie that was playing. Emily felt relaxed when she was with him, and she wished that she could get this feeling when she was around Riley, but things were the way they were for a reason, and she just hoped that she understood that reason soon.
She chuckled softly as her fingers played with his curls. "I have to agree with you there," she said softly as he planted a kiss on her forehead, which still had a light trail of sweat present.
He rested his head against the pillow as he studied her face. "I wish you could come on tour with us. You're hilarious and..God I don't know if I'll be able to survive knowing that you're here and I'm on a bus somewhere. You have to tell me that you'll come and visit me."
"You know, Justin, I can't just drop everything I'm doing and come see you when you're lonely, but I promise you that I will visit you if I get a chance. Trust me..you'll probably forget all about me as soon as that bus pulls out of here."
He shook his head as he kissed her nose. "I don't see how that is possible...the feel of your body will forever be in my mind..I'll be up on stage and I'll imagine you laying underneath me..."
She reached up and touched his lips with her fingers. "Whoa, Justin..now don't go and get deep about that..you know nothing is going to happen from this, right?"
He nodded his head. "I know..we're friends and nothing more...I almost forgot something," he said as he looked at her seriously. "Next month..on the 5th...there is this award show that we have to go to...would you be my date?"
She started laughing before stopping when she saw the look he was giving her. "You're serious!"
"Why the hell wouldn't I be serious?" he asked as he brushed her hair off her face.
"I guess..you'll have to call me so I can find out details and stuff..but oh..I don't have anything to wear..."
He kissed her lips, silencing the rambling that was about to begin. He pulled back before smiling. "I'll take care of everything..all you have to do is show up and promise me that night..you'll stay with me.." he said as he kissed her neck, tightening his hold around her, pulling her to rest on top of him. His hand ran over her back as she rested her head against his.
"You should probably be getting back to the hotel," she told him softly, not really wanting him to go.
"I know," he said, not making a move to get up. "I don't want to go though..."
"You have to go, Justin," she told him as she rolled off of him, pulling the sheet up so that it would cover her. After another five minutes of laying there in the silence, he finally got up and got dressed. After his clothes were on he walked back over to the bed to see that she was laying there watching him. "Aren't you coming back with me?"
She shook her head before sitting up to talk to him. "I think its best if I just stay here..."
He nodded his head before leaning in to kiss her one last time. "I'll be in touch..you gave me your number, and I gave you mine..don't be afraid to call me.."
"I won't," she said before laying back down and watching him leave. He threw one last look in her direction before shutting the bedroom door, leaving her there to sleep to regain her thoughts and energy.
"I'll make sure to give you my number..you do have to work in the morning right?" he said pausing for her so she could answer. "I think we're going to come in there and get breakfast, so I'll give it to you then," he said before starting to rock on his shoes.
The silence that was surrounding them was making them both uncomfortable. "Well I guess this is goodnight," Stephanie said finally, putting an end to the silence. She watched as Lance nodded his head and leaned forward. Her heart was racing, hoping that his lips were going to touch hers, but he shocked her by placing them on her cheek. "I know what you're wanting..trust me..one day," he whispered in her ear before turning and walking through the door, leaving her standing there shocked. She couldn't help but smile once she had regained her composure. She was about to head home, when she remembered that Emily was upstairs with JC.
Sighing, she went into the hotel room and headed straight for the elevator, wanting to get Emily and head home. After finding JC's room, she knocked lightly on the door, which was opened to reveal JC standing there in a pair of boxers. Her eyes lingered over his body before she smiled at him. 'I'm here to collect Em.."
Five minutes later, the two girls were on their way home, each thinking of the guy that had shared a moment of the night with.
Whitney watched the scene outside the diner as she wiped down the counter. One of them had to stay in and watch everything, and she had volunteered herself for that position, knowing that her goodbye had been said last night. Her eyes landed on Justin, and she couldn't stop from laughing as he dance in front of the window, trying to get her attention. She waved to him before turning her attention the coffee machine so she wouldn't have to watch him.
All hopes of her not having to talk to him before he left were washed away as she heard the door open. She didn't even have to look up to know that it was him coming in to say goodbye to her. "I thought we decided to say goodbye last night?" she asked him, letting her eyes drift over the counter to meet his tired ones.
He shrugged. "I came to get..umm..a cup of coffee," he said winking at her. "Besides..I want a goodbye kiss.."
"You don't get one," she said simply before turning to pour him a cup of coffee. She pushed it over the counter before turning to head further down the counter, where two new guys had just sat down. Justin watched as she smiled at them before writing their orders down, and he remembered when she had first flashed him that smile. It had set his body on fire, and from the moment she had came to their table, he had wanted her. She walked back over to him, and leaned up against the counter, avoiding looking directly at him.
"I thought you were leaving," she said as she picked at her shirt she was wearing.
He reached up and grabbed her hand, causing her eyes to advert to him. "Why are you acting weird?"
"I don't know what to say to you, Justin. For the past two days, you've just basically blew my mind away and now you're sitting here looking at me as if this is another day..well I'm sorry that I'm not use to doing stuff like this."
He touched her cheek softly before laughing. "Calm down, girl. Everything is ok..and its going to be ok. There isn't a need for you to freak out."
She took a deep breath before starting to blush. "I have no clue what the hell just took over my body, but trust me, that wasn't me," she said turning her head to check on the status of her orders. The bell chimmed, causing both of them to look in the direction of the door. Justin groaned when he saw Joey motioning for him to come on. He reluctantly stood up from the stool and leaned over closer to her. "I'll be in touch," he said before touching her lips quickly with his and turning to walk out the door.
"Justin..wait," she called out to him, causing him to stop in his tracks. Once she reached him, she pulled his head down and kissed him roughly before pulling back to smile. "Remember that," she whispered before heading back towards the counter. He chuckled before walking out the door.
Emily hugged JC one last time before smiling at him. "Thank you so much for everything you have done. These past two days you've been able to talk some sense into me and I apprecaite it. Don't be a stranger, Josh," she said before turning to head towards the diner.
Stephanie looked at Lance before hugging him. "Have fun out there, Lance," she said before pulling back and kicking at the ground.
He chuckled. "I think I owe you something," he said digging in his pockets. She raised her eyebrows at him, but couldn't stop from smiling as he pulled out a Hersey kiss. "This will have to hold you over until its time for the real thing," he said placing it in her hand and winking. "Stay in touch, Steph," he told her before jogging to get on the bus.
Stephanie stood there and watched as the bus pulled out and headed towards the interstate, questioning whether she would ever see them again or not, she knew that only time would tell. After standing out there for a few more seconds, she turned and walked back in the diner, where she saw Emily and Whitney talking quietly as they waited on their orders to come up.
She tied her apron around her neck before heading over to check and see what needed to be done. "What tables aren't being covered?"
"Umm.those few in the back are open, and a few at the front are open for you..hell just take any you want, you know I could care less," Whitney said as she grabbed an order that had came up.
Stephanie sighed as she watched her walk off. "I have a feeling she attached herself to him in two days...she's acting extremely weird," she told Emily.
"Things are going back to the way they use to be..it was nice having a change for a while."
"Let me guess, you mean by things going back to normal, you're going back to Riley tonight," Stephanie said, as she shook her head. "I'm telling you, Em..don't go back to him."
"I can't stay away forever, Steph. I love the man, and he'll eventually find me."
"You can atleast postpone him finding you," she continued to argue before Emily sighed and held her hand up.
"Steph, hunnie you know that I love you for being concerned for me, but I have to go on with my life and I won't run in fear. I can do this," she said before walking off, knowing that she didn't believe one word she had just said.
"I have to agree. I feel better now..being in a small town sure helped me out," Chris said from his spot on the floor where he was playing a game against Lance.
"I have to say that it helped JC more than any of us. That Emily girl must have talked some sense into him, because he's not moping around anymore," Lance said as he defeated Chris. "Bow down to the master baby."
"That was so unfair. I was listening to you talk and that made me mess up! Its so not fair man," Chris argued.
"You can't stand loosing, can you?" Joey said as he looked around the bus. "Where is Justin and JC?"
"JC's asleep and Justin's talking to Britney," Lance informed them.
"Are they still dating?"
"How the hell should I know, Joey?" Lance exclaimed as he stood up from the floor. "Why don't you go back there and just ask him?"
"You know what, I'll go do that right now," he said as he stood up and walked back towards the bunks. He pulled the curtain back to Justin's bunk and tapped him on the shoulder. Justin brought the phone down from his mouth before looking at him. "What do you want?"
"Lance and I both want to know if you're still dating Britney?"
Justin nodded his head before pulling the curtain closed again. "I know, I'm sorry about that baby, but Joey had to ask me something."
"Its ok, Juju...did you miss talking to me these past two days? I hate it that your cellphone went dead," Britney told him.
Justin rolled his eyes before answering her. "You know I miss you, baby..but listen, I'm going to have to go take a nap, and I know that your show should be starting soon. I'll talk to you soon," he said before waiting on her to answer. After hearing her gush about how much she loved him, he clicked the phone off and laid it down beside him. Closing his eyes, he smiled as he recalled the real reason he hadn't talked to her for the past two days. He'd lie to her again if he was given the chance...besides, what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
