“Where IS he?” muttered an impatient Phoebe, “If he wasn’t THE Nick, I wouldn’t wait for him.” Phoebe glanced at her G-Shock watch. Nick was half an hour late. Phoebe had thought that she would for sure be late because she had taken practically forever to choose her perfect choice of clothing, which were designer flares, and a short loose green top that showed a little bit of skin. Just then, she heard a huge sigh and a frustrated voice blurt out from beside her.

“Where IS she?”

She turned her head to face a tall person with a cap over his head. He was wearing black jeans and a white top. Thinking that this person was vaguely familiar, she looked closely at the person. It was Nick!

“You’re late.” She stated folding her hands across her chest.

“Who are… oh… me late?! You’re the one that’s late! I got here half an hour ago!”

“I was here half an hour ago too,” Phoebe said calmly. She didn’t want to lose Nick as a friend – or a person that she knows, whatever. “Guess I didn’t recognize you.”

“It’s okay,” Nick calmed down, forgetting what he was supposed to do. He casually took a full glance at Phoebe. “You look nice today,” Nick whispered.

“What? Can you say that again? I couldn’t hear you.” Phoebe leaned closer to Nick and caught a whiff of his cologne.

“Never mind,” Nick paused and fumbled with the pockets of his jeans, “Wanna go eat lunch?”

“Uh, well–”

“You didn’t eat lunch already, did you?”

“No, but–”

“Great! Let’s go to Micky D’s!” Nick interrupted again excitedly.

“Nick! Would you like, shut up for a minute and let me speak?” Phoebe took the magazine she held in her hand and lightly touched Nick’s head with it in order to capture his attention.

“Ow!”

“I didn’t hit you THAT hard,” Phoebe laughed as Nick started rubbing his head. (Author’s Note: I know Nick’s wearing a cap but there’s a thing in the world called EXAGERATION. Need me to spell it out for you?) “Anyway, I never said yes.” Phoebe smiled happily as she thought of the scene at McDonald’s while she ate lunch with Nick. Phoebe played ‘hard-to-get’ it was fun watching guys plead but she was also a tiny bit afraid that Nick might turn her down altogether.

“Aw… come on! You’re spoiling the fun. Besides, I’d like to know you more. I have such limited friends, you seem pretty decent to me… except when you… I’d rather not say…” Third meeting and Nick was already teasing her.

“Did he just say that he wanted to know me more? I think I’m dreaming…” Phoebe thought dreamily. “Um… okay, I’ll eat lunch with you…” Nick smiled happily and the both of them turned around to enter the crowded McDonald’s.
