“I’m home!” Liza called in to the dark house and closed the door lightly when she learned that everybody was either busy or sleeping.
“It’s about time too,” Lisa crossed her arms and leaned against the wall with an unhappy expression on her face.
“Hey, I called,” Liza replied weakly. She and Nick had gone out to the beach and just sat there for hours talking and watching the sunset. Nick had told Liza a lot about himself and Liza had done the same in return. Then they went out to dinner and continued to talk. They never ran out of things to say and never ran out of plans to do what on the weekends. They had already planned to go out to scuba dive on Saturday, because Nick had told her that he was a licensed scuba diver and had his own devices. Nick had ended their little date with a good-night kiss and then he sped away in his convertible that shone in the night.
“What did you guys do?” Lisa asked, “Bet it was something boring. If it was something romantic or interesting, I bet it was Nick who came up with the idea.” Lisa said meanly.
“We didn’t do much, we just went to the beach and talked about stuff for hours and then we went out to eat.”
“Just as I thought… BORING!” Lisa watched Liza pull off her shoes and hang up her sweater.
“We didn’t think it was very boring,” Liza replied before disappearing upstairs to the safety and comfort of her room.

Nick waited impatiently outside the history room where Lisa and Liza were. He was waiting for Liza to come out and then they could have lunch together. When the bell rang, a crowd of students hurried out the small door.
“Hey Liz,” Nick said.
“Huh?” Lisa turned, suspicious of Nick’s actions.
“Oops, um, sorry Lis. I messed up again, I was looking for Liza,” he smiled sheepishly.
“It’s okay,” Lisa put on a syrupy smile for him. But the truth was, she was burning deep down inside. She swallowed as if it was to keep her anger inside. “Liz again!,” She thought angrily, “And I thought he’d learn a lesson after that date with Liz…”
“Oh hey Nick!” Liza smiled brightly, showing her straight white teeth when she saw that Nick was standing outside her classroom waiting for her. Secretly, she was pleased that he was, but when she saw that an about-to-erupt Lisa was standing next to him, her cheery mood immediately fell. She hated having fights with her sister.
“Liz! Great to see you! Wanna go to lunch together?” Nick asked, immediately devoting all his attention to Liza.
“Uh… Not today Nick… I promised Emma that I’d eat lunch with her today since I haven’t been with her for nearly a week now,” Liza replied apologetically.
“Okay…” Nick answered, disappointed, then left.
“Humph,” Lisa said then left leaving Liza standing alone.
