I could still feel Nick’s lips on me when the phone rang as I stepped into the empty house. I dropped my stuff in annoyance and ran, only discovering that the phone wasn’t in it’s cradle again. Trying to remember where I used it last, I ran upstairs to the bathroom and found it next to the sink.
“Hello?”
“Hey, where were you? I called you all night, your mobile wasn’t on and no one was home. You had me worried.”
“Oh I just went out with a few friends to go get a drink,” I lied. I would be best if Justin didn’t know about the Nick thing.
“Why didn’t you call me to go with you as well? It would be pretty cool if I got to know some of your friends.”
“Oh uh, you had to go home early right? I didn’t want you to get you in trouble on my behalf,” I could almost hear him smile.
“That wouldn’t matter. You know its dangerous going out this late for a girl like you.”
“Yeah… I gotta go Justin, I need sleep, alright?” I said, only because I didn’t want to talk to Justin.
“Oh yeah, how could I be so thoughtless? I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” and then he hung up.
Walking downstairs to put the phone back in it’s cradle, I wondered what was wrong with me. I didn’t feel good with Justin and with Nick it wasn’t right. Pushing my problems away, I yawned and drifted to sleep.

I groaned as I heard the phone ring continuously and I almost wished that my parents hadn’t gone on their second honeymoon. I wasn’t going to answer it, but then the phone just kept on ringing and ringing…
Until finally it stopped and then my door bell rang. I let out a short frustrated shrill scream and finally woke up. Stumbling down the stairs, I opened the door, not bothering to fix up my appearance for whoever it was. I didn’t even know who it was until he talked to me because my eyes were still closed.
“Hey! Morning!”
“Justin, I can’t open my eyes when the sun’s shining so brightly… meaning that it’s too early for me to wake up so good bye.” I was closing the door and he kept it open with his foot, “What do you want?”
“I wasn’t going to come over… just that no one answered the phone when I called so I decided to check out to see what you were doing.”
“Okay, I was sleeping.”
“You’re grouchy.”
“Sorry! Ok, I’ll stop being a bitch.”
“So, are you doing anything today?”
“Not when I’m looking like this.”
“Hah, I think you look cute.” Justin smirked. I couldn’t help but smile… he was so cute!
“Yeah, I’m sure! I have morning breath, my hair looks like I was sleeping next to dynamite the entire night and I’ve got pimple cream all over my face. That’s your description of cute. I can hardly wait to see your description of ugly and totally freaky.”
Justin grinned, “Whatever, I still think you look cute. So can I come in now?”
“Hmm.. depends on what you want to do.”
“Oh I was hoping for a morning run up the mountains and back.”
“Huh, that’s what you think! I’m going back to sleep!”
“Great, then I’ll just join you!”
I laughed and let Justin in as I walked upstairs to the bathroom to clean myself up, “I don’t think so! You wait here alright? I’ve got to take a shower and everything.”
“Ok, I’ll just watch some TV.”

Half an hour later, I bounded down the stairs expecting to see Justin watching TV in the den but he was on the phone with a weird expression on his face.
“Who is it?” I asked him.
“Um… I dunno… it’s a guy.” Was it just me or did he seem extra sensitive when he said the word ‘guy’? I took the phone from him.
“Hey.”
“Yo Rach! It’s Nick. Didn’t expect you to be up this early, I was going to give you another one of those morning calls.”
“Haha very funny but no I was already woken up by–”
“Justin right? I guess that was him who just answered the phone?”
“No that was my dad.”
“You mean–”
“No I’m just kidding! So why did you call?”
“Oh nothing much. Just wanted to tell you that I’m gonna be going on a short promo tour in Hong Kong.”
“Oh,” I said with a hint of disappointment in my voice, “When are you going to come back?”
“Probably for about like a month or two. No longer than that.”
“You must be excited. When are you leaving?”
“Nah, not anywhere near excited. I’ve done these tours a million times. I think we’re leaving on Sunday morning.”
“That’s two days from now.”
“Yeah… so I guess you can get rid of me for 2 months. And you won’t get anymore of my morning calls.”
“I’ll miss that!” I smiled, but I couldn’t help but feel a little sad. It would be pretty dull without Nick around.
“Heh, sure… but everything goes back to normal when I get back! Hey I gotta go, I’ll call you alright?”
“Yeah sure, I’ll be here.”
“You take care. Bye.” and then he hung up. Putting down the phone, I realized that Justin had sat himself down at the kitchen table.
“Hey, sorry I took so long.”
“It’s alright. I brought my swimming trunks. Let’s go swimming in your pool!” Justin suggested with a sly grin on his face.
“No way! Last time I went swimming at your place with you and Geneve, you kept throwing me into the pool! No way that’s going to happen again!” I cried out as I started to move away from Justin.
“Come on!” He urged. He started moving closer and I could feel his hands going onto my waist.
“Oh no… you’re not gonna…” I shrieked as Justin started to tickle me, “Stop, stop! I’ll swim! Just let me go upstairs to change first!” Justin let go of me as I made my way upstairs. Looking through my drawers, I decided on my new two piece swim suit from Bodyglove. Taking off my clothes, I slipped it on and a t shirt on top and went downstairs to the pool. Justin was already sitting by the side with his shirt off. I couldn’t help but stare at his hot body. I guess he caught me staring and he grinned.
“Get in, the water’s great!” he jumped in.
I walked around the pool away from him to the other side of the pool and slipped in. Starting some laps, I realized that Justin started chasing me and I tried to swim faster but before I knew it, he had me cornered. My heart beat so loudly that I swear that he could hear it. I looked up at him to find him gazing intensely into my eyes. And then he leaned in to kiss me.
As he started to pull away, I couldn’t help but grab him back and kiss him again. And then I pushed him away and the I climbed up onto the sides.
“I think I feel like a little nap,” I told Justin as I laid down on one of the chairs. Closing my eyes, I half fell asleep. Suddenly I felt as though someone was lifting me up. My eyes quickly fluttered open and I saw that Justin had lifted me up. I screamed, “No! Put me down! You can’t throw me in the pool again! It’s not fair!”
Justin stopped walking and looked at me, “Aww… I almost feel sorry for you, but in this world, there is no such thing as fairness!” and then he threw me into the pool. I scrambled back onto the side and tried to push him in but he was too strong!
“Fine! Have it your way!” I pretended to be mad and my back faced him as he stopped running. I could feel him walking over to me and sliding his arms onto my waist.
“I’ll let you throw me into the pool once… if you let me kiss you again.”
I turned around and he lifted my face. As I was melted into another one of his kisses, nothing else was in my mind besides him.
