Christina continued to stay at the Carter’s. She had been there for nearly 2 weeks now but she still hasn’t forgotten why she was there in the first place. Though the memory was starting to fade away slowly, it still wasn’t completely gone and Christina believed that it never will. It didn’t matter anymore because a certain member of the Carter family has caught her eye. Christina thought that she didn’t have feelings for Nick anymore because of Aaron, but she was wrong…
*That morning*
“What are you thinking ‘bout?” Leslie asked as she bounded into the guest room where Christina was staying. She and Christina had grown closer together during the time of Christina’s stay.
“You know who.” Christina replied, ignoring Leslie’s playful grin. She glanced down at the magazine that she cradled in her arms. Leslie peered over her shoulder to see what Christina was smiling at.
“Ah… my little brother. Don’t know what you see in him. He’s such an annoying little brat.”
“That’s what makes him so cute.” Christina said dreamily, and continued to stare at the poster in the magazine.
“Why are you staring at a poster when the real thing is downstairs pigging himself out to breakfast?”
“He’s NOT pigging himself out. He’s known WORLDWIDE for God’s sake! And don’t you think he’d think that I’m a little crazy if I start staring at him like he’s got the world’s biggest booger anyone can have in his nose?”
“So, I’m known worldwide as well,” Leslie laughed and made an attempt to have a good comeback.
“Yeah, as his SISTER,” Christina emphasized the word, ‘sister’.
“Yeah whatever. I’m still known worldwide anyway. First Nick, now Aaron. By the way, what’s happening between you and Nick?”
“Everything’s cool, I guess I kinda got over him.” Christina shrugged, “Besides, I’m Aaron’s girlfriend now remember? Call me ‘Air Girl’!”
“Phew! That’s a relief,” Leslie said happily.
“Huh? Why?” Christina asked, interested in Leslie’s sudden sigh of relief.
“Because he’s coming over to dinner tonight. I was afraid that things between you and him weren’t cool.”
Christina suddenly felt like a ton of bricks were just dropped on her. Her heart felt heavy and she didn’t know what to think. Color drained from her face as she slowly digested the piece of information. “Weird reaction,” she thought to herself, “Hadn’t I gotten over him already? Stupid me! Why do I still like him? I can’t believe that I’m cheating on Aaron! Nick’s a jerk, he’s a jerk, he’s a jerk…” Christina said repeatedly in her mind as if to hypnotize herself and make her believe that what she was saying was true.
“Yo, Chris,” Leslie nudged Christina, “What’s wrong girl? You look sick.”
“I’m fine,” Christina smiled for the sake of Leslie, “Let’s go down to breakfast now.”
“Okay…” Leslie said, unsure, as Christina yelled,
“Race you down! Last one down there has to do whatever I say!”
“No fair! You had a head start and whatever YOU say?” Leslie yelled back, following Christina down the stairs, pushing her worries away.
