“Argh! Damn it Frick! Why the hell did you wake me up so early in the morning!” Nick growled as he turned around lying flat on his stomach and covered his pillow over his head, trying to block out the racket that Brian was making.
“Wake up Nick! Dontcha remember that you have to pick up that girl this morning? You told me to wake you up remember?” Brian said as he slapped the back of Nick’s head lightly.
“Oh yeah.” Nick recalled and sat up, “What time is it?” He asked and let out a yawn at the same time.
“Although, I do not understand your language that you were speaking, I guess that you just asked me what time it is.” He glanced at his watch, “It is now approximately 8:30 am.”
“Holy shit! Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?” He jumped up from his bed and ran into the bathroom to brush his teeth.
“I did. But I guess you didn’t hear me.” Brian stated stubbornly.
“Ymemah wrhmantherver,” Nick rolled his eyes and toothpaste dribbled down his chin at his attempt to say ‘yeah whatever’ while brushing his teeth.

Half an hour later, Nick was in still in his green vehicle, Brian with him, holding his road atlas in his face.
“Watch where you’re going.” Brian stated simply.
“Where the hell is this place anyway? Argh, I’m so frustrated…” Nick drifted off as a not too big, not too small house appeared at the end of the road. It was surrounded by thick trees and was separated a bit too away from the other houses. “Never mind, I found it.” Nick said happily as he realized that that was the house he was searching for. He drove onto the long driveway as he said, “And I’m not la –” He glanced at his watch, “Damn it, it’s 9:30.”
“Hey Bri –” He turned around to face his friend only to find an empty seat beside him. “B?” He looked around him and realized that his friend had already gotten out of the vehicle and was talking to a rather tall girl. “Must be the girl. Strange, I thought mom said she’s 12 but she looks like she’s 15.” Nick said to himself and got out of the car as well.
“So, you must be the guy I’m staying with huh?” She questioned as she folded her hands across her chest. She was wearing baggy jeans and a baggy blue top. She had long, straight hair that was black/dark brown and reached down to her waist. Her eyes were big and dark brown. A couple of pimples were on her forehead but they weren’t too obvious. As she talked, Nick noticed that she had braces and she was a bit chubby.
“I give her a 6. Scored point with her hair and eyes.” Nick thought to himself as his thoughts were broken by the unmistakable voice of the girl. “And her voice…” Nick added mentally.
“Hello person?” She waved her hands in front of his face. “I’m Christina but you can call me Chris or CNN.”
“CNN? Why? Are you so boring that they made your nickname a news channel?” Brian laughed at his lame attempt to crack a joke.
Christina laughed along. “No, it’s ‘cause my name full name is Christina Natalie Nevin.” Her eyes twinkled like the stars shining in the night sky every time she laughed. “Anyway, I still don’t know your name.” She said to Nick, “I know his, it’s Brian or Brok whatever, but what about you?”
“Nick,” He said simply. One word, no last name or any other info.
“Oh…” She said quietly as an uncomfortable silence approached them.
“Why don’t we get going?” Brian asked as he stared at them and pulled them both into the car. “What the hell was Nick doing?” Brian wondered. “But then again – he’s shy.” He told himself and chuckled softly at the thought of a 6’1 blonde monster shy.
