“I broke up with Nick,” Christina stated when she heard the person on the other side pick up the receiver. She knew that it would be her best friend, Anna, because her parents never answered the phone for the phone calls were always for her.

“Oh. You WHAT?!” Anna exclaimed.

“I said I broke up with Nick.”

“What? Why? I thought you were really happy when you were with him. It was like a dream come true!” Anna asked.

“Because he’s going away on tour for 3 months.” Christina replied without much tone in her voice.

“Are you, upset or are you happy?”

“What does it sound like?”

“Definitely upset.”

“Yeah.” Christina mumbled.

“Then why did you do it?” Anna asked strangely.

“I told you! Because he’s going away on tour for 3 months!” Christina repeated.

“So?”

“So? Don’t you get it? I’m going to be breaking my heart during that time when I don’t even know if he’s going to fall in love with another girl! Our love isn’t that strong to survive through that amount of time without each other.” Christina sighed as she explained her situation once more.

“But you’re not happy, right? Then why bother breaking up if you’re not happy about the way you feel? Breaking up with him will not take away the feelings you have for Nick, they’ll always be there. I cannot guarantee that he’s going to stay loyal to you but, hey, you’re young, you have tons of time for other boyfriends. Everyone’s going to have at least one heartbreak sooner or later.”

“Do you think I did the wrong thing?”

“Definitely. When’s he leaving?”

“… Today…” Christina replied quietly.

“Shoot! When’s his flight? We may be able to catch him at the airport!” Anna said quickly.

“Um… I think at twelve. What time’s it now?”

“11:30! Quick, meet outside and we’ll grab a taxi to the airport!”

Christina immediately grabbed her bag and rushed outside. Apparently, a car accident had occurred and now there was a huge crowd on the road. A series of police cars, ambulances and policemen were scattered all around the road like ants gathering food. The road was blocked so no cars could get in.

“Why didn’t I hear anything?” Christina muttered under her breath.

“Yo Chris! Over here!” Anna waved from the curve. She had a taxi waiting beside her.

Christina ran over to her and collapsed in her arms. “I don’t know what I’m going to do if I lose him!” Christina cried out frantically as she stepped into the taxi, “Airport please, fast, and I mean it,” she instructed the taxi driver. “Why am I so stupid?” she asked herself.

“Calm down Chris! We’re gonna make it! We don’t live that far away from the airport and I bet that there won’t be any tra…” she trailed off as a crowd of cars and buses and trucks came in sight.

“Anna!” Christina wailed, “Now there’s traffic! We still have to find the gate where Nick is! We’ll never get there in time!” She buried her face in moving at its quick pace again. “We are going to make it! We are!” Anna’s sleeve.

“Don’t worry. Look, the traffic’s clearing up.”

Christina perked up with a sign of hope on her face. She grinned happily when she saw that the taxi was
