Autumn waited in the line, her legs trembling from the sudden atmosphere change. She had walked into a fast food restaurant to get something to eat. People were staring at her when the door opened. She looked around nervously as more people began to crowd around the lines. Her stomach growled in protest as she hadn’t had any food in days. She breathed in deeply. She can almost taste the food in her weak stomach. The warm savory in her mouth. As she stepped up to the woman behind the counter, she eyed her suspiciously. She gulped.

“Uh… how may I help you?”

Nick tried to make himself comfortable as he sat down at his first class seat. He didn’t know what to think. He was so nervous, it made his heart beat so fast that he couldn’t control it. He couldn’t even believe that he was actually doing this. Skiving the biggest concert of the century just to find some girl that he didn’t even know? There was just something about her that he just can’t deny. He didn’t even know what he felt towards her. He rubbed his eyes tiredly as someone sat in the seat next to him. He turned to see who it was. She had shoulder length brown hair that was styled quite sophisticatedly, her jade green eyes sparkled like stars. She was pretty and around his age but Nick didn’t feel any interest. She rubbed her bare arms as she turned around to see who she was sitting next to her as well.

She looked shocked. Her mouth opened in amazement.

Nick raised his eyebrows and turned to face the window and ignored her.

“I can’t believe I’m like sitting next to the actual Nick Carter!” she gushed as she shifted closer to Nick, she didn’t seem to notice the fact that Nick wasn’t in the mood to talk, “You know, I was like so bummed that I couldn’t go to your concert and I just practically like, cried because my friends and I like got tickets and everything and we were like totally psyched to go see it together but then my parents like told me that my grandma was like in the hospital and everything so we had to like fly to London to see her. Geez, I was like, ‘Thanks grandma for your wonderful Christmas present of making me miss the concert of the century!” she rolled her eyes in disgust, “But hey,” she narrowed her eyes, “Isn’t today like the concert? Why are you like here? And, where are like the rest of the guys? And can I have your autograph please?” she asked, holding out a pen and a piece of paper.

Nick sighed defeatedly and turned to face her, if she said ‘like’, one more time he was going to have to strangle her. She was pretty alright… pretty for a bitch. Bitch was practically written all over her face! Her black mini skirt, matching tank top, platforms and her perfect hair stated it all. Once upon a time, Nick would have been interested in her, but strangely now, all he felt was annoyance, “Would you mind shutting up and let me be in peace?” he scolded while signing his name on the crumpled piece of paper.

“Alright, alright! Geez, I thought you were supposed to be like, nice and everything,” she held her hands up in mock surrender.

Nick breathed in deeply and tried not to explode.

A few moments later, she began to talk again, “Hey, are you like for real man? I mean, like, what you say in your info, is it like, true? Or is it just like, made up crap your manager or whatever tells you? And, do you like get bossed around all the time? I mean, ‘cause like, I think I’m gonna be a singer as well so like you might as well watch out for me. You know, actually, I’m sure that I am gonna make it, there’s like no doubt about it. I mean like, look at me man! I even got your interest in me even though you’re just trying to hide it. I can see it in your eyes man! And like, about the bossing thing? I’m not used to it, I mean like, I’m rich and pretty and everything like, get real, like, me being bossed around? Oh and, hey, I hope you know that like, you are my like, favorite like, out of the group so like, I know that you’re, like, a bit weak in expressing yourself, but I like get the message and you’re welcome.”

“What?” Nick asked, one of his eyebrows rose in doubt.

“For appreciating that I haven’t like, gone all over you man, like, you know, what normal fans would like, do! Geez, I didn’t like, know that you were that daft,” she stated in a matter-of-factly state while popping a piece of gum into her mouth and began chewing, “Want some?” she offered.

“No thanks,” he turned away while the model-like bimbo continued to blab on about her future career. He couldn’t believe her, was she for real? He sighed tiredly and tried to sleep. It was going to be a long flight.

“Hey, it was like, a great flight man. I’m so glad that we’re such good friends. Wanna exchange numbers man? Here’s mine,” she shoved a card into his face. They were at the baggage claim, Nick was trying to find his bag and get rid of her as soon as possible.

He took it without even looking at it.

“Aren’t you even going to like, look at it?”

He glanced at it, “It was a pleasure to meet you Alicia,” he said tonelessly.

“You too Nick, so, what’s like your number man? Maybe, we could like, get together sometime, and like, I might even give you a chance man,” she searched her bag and produced her phone book and a swirly purple and green pen. “So, open up stranger.”

But before she could even look up to face Nick, he had already gone.

“Oh well, I guess like he wanted to make the like first move,” she said as if it didn’t really matter, “That’s right, he should be like the one to call me, not me. That’s always like the way,” she shrugged and continue to wait for her bags, her mouth curled into a sly smile as if struck by a great thought, “Oh God, the girls are like gonna be like, sooooooo jealous that I like have a date with Nick Carter!”

Thank God I got rid of her Nick thought thankfully as he searched his way out of the crowded busy airport. as he stood outside, the rainy weather beyond him, he thought, Now what?

“Where is he?” Kevin hollered angrily. It was the day of the concert, outside of the building, there were thousands of screaming fans, all waiting to see them. Since the day Nick had walked off in the middle of practice, he had come back different, weird, as if he had something to hide. As if he was guilty for something. He didn’t talk anymore. All he would do is walk around with his notebook, scribbling in poems or sketching something. Once, Nick had dropped one of his sketches and Kevin picked it up, it was a portrait of a girl, quite attractive. Of course, Kevin didn’t think that it was anything and quickly forgot about it. Kevin eyed the other members of the BSB, they were all occupied, either applying make-up, getting ready, practicing… etc. Kevin’s gaze stopped at Brian. He and Nick have such a close bondage. He must know something about his disappearance, besides, he seemed a little quiet the entire morning. “Brian?” he barked.

He turned his head slowly.

“Do you have anything to do with this?” he asked quietly and as calmly as possible.

He gulped. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead, “No,” he struggled to say.

Kevin looked at him suspiciously, “Are you sure?”

“Yeah, I’m positive, I woke up late this morning and I couldn’t find him. His clothes and everything were gone and we had a huge row a few days ago and we weren’t talking so if he went away to somewhere like London, I wouldn’t know anyway because he wouldn’t have told–”

“Wait, wait! Hold on, hold on! Did you just say, Nick went to London?” Kevin asked, his anger raging. He knew that he probably have went.

“No, no! Not at all! I mean, it was just the first thing that thing that came into mind!” Brian began stuttering nervously.

“Wait a minute, that girl in London!” Suddenly, everything began to piece together. Those poems, those sketches of the same girl, his strange behavior, “Nick went to London to find that girl!” he shouted loudly when he figured it out, “Nick went to fucking London to find the girl!” he repeated in rage.

“No! No he didn’t! I swear! He uh, he uh, went to visit his mom because uh, they were uh, going to visit grandpa! Yeah! It was like, a thing that he couldn’t miss and uh, he told me to tell you guys but I uh, forgot. Yeah,” Brian muttered.

“Shut up Bri, I know what happened. He, stupidly, went to London, by himself, to find, that girl we saw at the hotel. That’s the most stupidest thing I’ve ever heard! It’s the stupidest thing he’s ever done! He’d be killed by mobs of fans without his bodyguards. How dare he run off like that, on such a big night as well! What are we going to say to the fans? They are going to be so disappointed! What are we going to do?”

“Well, we really can’t do anything about it Train, I mean, we can’t just run off to find him. He’s in London! We’re just going to have to feed the crowd excuses and then worry about Nick afterwards,” AJ reasoned. He turned his chair around to face Kevin.

“I know, but like, argh, I’m just so annoyed that this can’t be as perfect as I imagined it would be,” Kevin sighed in annoyance.

“Nothing is perfect Kevin, get over it cous,” Brian said.

“He is so gonna get it when he comes back.”
