Who is Adam Wood? Band Biography by: Adam Wood: Lets see. I started doing solo "acts" about two and a half years ago. It was me and my guitar and an occassional solo track from a tape. I had a lot of fun and it was really building me spiritually. The only downfall, I realized after about 2-3 months, was that I wasn't where I wanted to be musically. So, I took some time off and prayed about it. I felt a restlessness and felt that God was calling me to bigger things. So about a month or so passed, and I decided to recruit more instramentalists. I finally got all that I was looking for. We were a full band. Now ... the moment every group of musicians struggle with ... the name. Everyone knows ... you're not a band until you have a name. *laugh* Our bassist/keyboardist (Trent Lockhart) and I were sitting down in his living room one evening going over several name ideas. I don't recall all the names we picked, but I know we came up with the weirdist name possible. Adam Wood and Anutha Zone. We did a few shows with that name .. and people would come up to me and would say "how do you pronounce the band's name?" That ended there. I talked to the guys and we finally decided to change officially to Adam Wood and Another Zone. We've gone through several shows together. But finally, the day came that I hopped to never face. I knew it was coming though. My best friend, and keyboardist, Trent, moved. His family relocated to Muncie, Indiana. It was bad enough losing a friend and band member, but what added to it: he owned our sound system. So, we were forced to take a little time off. It was nice to have the time to stop and listen to God more clearly. I felt another restlessness. We finally rented a sound system and played a few more shows as Adam Wood and Another Zone ... with me playing the bass guitar while I was sinigng ... it didn't turn out bad, but something I don't think I'd want to do again. In that time, my guitarist, Scott Oyer, and I had played a few acoustic dates for special events. I started thinking back to those times. I realized it was so much easier and less stressful. I felt that God wanted me to simplify my life, and this would be a big part of the process. So, here I am today. Adam Wood again. Scott has been normally playing guitar for me, with an occasional fill in. But, I've come to realize some things. I've had more oportunities in a solo artist setting than I have ever had with an organization like "Adam Wood and Another Zone." I've been working on some writing, in book form and I've had more oportunites to do more with other artists and bands. It's amazing, and it's great to be able to go to a place and just hang out. With the band, we had to worry about all those perfect entrances ... making sure the people didn't see us before the performance, or afterwards until we came out to sign autographs. Now, it's so much better. I can just walk right off stage and hang out with the people. The music has changed, yes. I'm not in the limelight that I once was. However, we still have a good fan base. But it's not all about fame and money. I've come to a realization that without Jesus Christ, I so wouldn't be where I am today. At the end of the summer, though, look for some more band dates. I've been wanting to experiment with the band again. So, now, I get a chance to start it up again and see where God takes us. He's amazing. I wouldn't have made it without him. Or ... with a few special people: Thank you Geoff Moore, Scott Oyer, Trent Lockhart, Casey Smith, TJ Lane, and Robert Morgan (last two are "garage band" buddies). Who are the members?: Scott Oyer - Guitar / Backing Vocals Trent Lockhart - Bass / Keyboards Casey Smith - Drums / Percussion Adam Wood - Lead Vocals The lineup will be the same at the end of the summer. The only change will be Trent's possition. He will never be replaced, but we need to fill his spot. We'll anounce the new memeber in the future. This is a design for Adam Wood's new album!
