my name is Teresa (Tea). I am a 17 yr old (18 on September 17)English/Creative Writing major right now finishing up my second year attending a local community college and Word of Life Bible Institute. I hope to one day attend either SUNY New Paltz or New Mexico State University. I now live in Southern California in the foothills of the mountains. Until a few weeks ago I lived in Upstate New York, near Woodstock, the original home of drugs and hippie love:-) Below are some of my favorite things, hope you enjoy getting to know me a little better...please email me or sign my guestbook...I'd love to hear from you!
my favorite things to do...
I like to hike, spend time outdoors looking at stars, picking wildflowers, and watching the sunset, play with my Nikon EM 35mm manual/automatic camera, write poetry and some short stories (mostly non-fiction life stories or observations), read just about anything that grabs my fancy especially classic american literature and more recently fantasy/sci fi, chat in books and lit, and watch action movies (my fav actor is Bruce Willis, meow! drool!)
this is a pic I took of lower Catterskill Falls in upstate New York's Catskill Mountains last month...beautiful isn't it?
my best friends in real life...
Alison, she's my bestest, bestest friend, we all call her Al. She and I have been best friends for years and hopefully will always be...she keeps me honest, puts the laughter in my life when I want to cry, and is always there for me when no one else is...In a way, she is the Wind beneath my wings...that song is my song to her. We've decided that we should collaborate and write a book titled real-life Beaches:-) Al and I have a third member of our friendship, her name is Amy, she makes most everything we do fun and ads her laughs quietly. The two of them, Al and Amy, hail "Shame on You" as their song, closely followed by "It's raining men." The three of us spend lots of time in Amy's hottub, watching movies, and trying to put together dancing parties where the two of them make everyone dance and I sit in the corner and laugh at them. My boyfriend's name is Adam, he's usually on line using AOL and can be found under the name Wyyzard there. this is a picture of us together a couple years ago in Boston.
Adam and I have flirted for years, grew up liking eachother really. We just recently finally decided to try out being together...so far he's made me very happy, I think he always will:-) He's my dream man...easy to talk to and be with, friendly, intelligent, able to talk back without sounding stupid, outdoorsy, loves computers and good music, enjoys literature and wants to major in English, and is tall, not so beautiful that I feel intimidated but still much better than a sharp stick in the eye !-) Adam wrote and sent me a poem from New Mexico when he was hiking Philmont. It's so beautiful that I have to post if for everyone to see. I hope he doesn't mind:-)
Silvery tendrils of your love,
A song sent on its impatient journey,
Smooth, cool light pours on its way into my soul;
And I feel complete. Eyes gazing upon
This unearthly messenger.
Placed here into the gentle hands of time
I float on an ethereal cloud of adoration,
Moonstruck, I find you, and in the eternal
Abyss one more evening is spent, together;
As it should be. A while ago I wrote a poem for a Russian friend of mine named Andrei. I wrote it because he asked me what I thought of when I looked at the moon. Since I've moved away from Adam I have rewritten the poem as a love poem for him. It's an attempt to tell him what goes through my mind when I look at the moon now that he's on the other side of it. I hope you like it.
In memory of love:
as i stand her contemplating each moonshadow
memories of you gather in my heart like dandelions in the wind
and I dare to hope that you are there too
gazing at the moon
and dreaming of me
One of my best friends, Jeromy, is also one of Adam's best friend's from growing up. Jay, as we call him, is the only person I know who likes everything I do and still doesn't get on my nerves :) He and I will spend hours together grunting over cars, loud stereos with great bass systems, anything with lots of power, and action movies. We recently rented 12 Monkeys and watched it together...great, great movie. We gave it all thumbs up. Jay and I love the same kind of music, generally classic rock although really anything with lots of guitar and strong bass, one of our favorites is Pink Floyd. They play a song that reminds me so much of Jeromy that I have to put it here as my memory of Jeromy.
Breathe In the Air
Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave but don't leave me
Look around and choose your own ground
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be
Run rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to start another one
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave. Mamie is my old roomate from college...she can be found on yahoo under the name teensymamie...chosen because she's so tiny! hehehe.

my favorite activity...
horse back riding. I have been riding since I was eight years old and have owned three horses and leased one. My first horse's name is Lazy Fasandra. The picture here is of Fawn and I in one of our first shows about five years ago...isn't she gorgeous?
She's a pugnacious little grey arabian mare. She did everything, huntseat, dressage, western, show jumping, hacking, etc. My second horse was actually a pony. I'll try to get a pic of him and attach it later. His name was pumpkin (punk for short). Punk is a 12 hand Morgan/ Shetland cross. I used him to teach lessons and hack in backyard shows and on the trails, he was trained as a driving pony. He had the friendliest personality of any pony I ever met...he was wonderfully easygoing and inquisitive. Punk did anything...including jumping, he even won first place in a crossrails class at his first show. My third horse was a 16 hand thoroughbred filly. Her name was Raisin' Kayla. Kayla was a beautiful dark grey ex-racer.
The picture here is of me and Kayla at a show a couple years ago...she was a total nutcase in this show...this is the only moment in the entire show that more than two feet were on the ground at one time...needless to say we didn't place at all that day...lol.
She was saved from the meat auction by a man who owns a farm near me. I bought her and rehabilitated her, training her as a dressage horse. She is now a broodmare at a breeding farm a few hours upstate from me. Kay had the sweetest little girl's disposition. I could turn her loose in a paddock with any horse and not have to worry about her causing fights. She loved kids and let them toddle around her, always careful not to step on them or hurt them, and let them ride her, including steering and getting her going. She acted more like a Quarter Horse than a Thoroughbred. I wanted to train her as a western pleasure horse...she was built for it and had the perfect disposition for it.
Come on line and check out books and lit or say hello to me if you see me around. I'm usually on line as pear_blossom, peat_pear, or adams_tea, although my name seems to be changing weekly, sometimes daily. You can usually find me chatting in books and lit although I do occasionaly take a little tour of the other yahoo rooms.

Leave me a message in my guestbook and tell me or just leave a message in my guestbook anyway:-) I love to hear from people and make new friends.
last I thought I'd leave you with one of my poems. this one was inspired by the recent turn of events in my family life. Hope you enjoy it.
Tears By Night
Cosmetic smile to hide the pain
Laugh, don't show your sadness
Tears behind each happy word
Blinding, wrenching, sobbing cries
Buried by the sunshine
Moon hear my cry
Sun hide my hurt
