Rescue Of Fireteam Omega

2496.05 Fireteam Omega of the 5th Mechanized division dispatched
to planet Amaru XXXVIIa on northern border. Mission is to recointer
and establish military prescence in preparation for AON deployment
of sub-space listening post.
2496.12 Fireteam Omega arrives at destination and begins planetary
deployment. No alien empires detected, surface is free of anomalies.
2496.13-Base of operations created, transports leave orbit.
2496.14-Planet declared secure. Fireteam requests the AON arrive
with the listening post. Estimated time of arrival three weeks.
Radio silence to be maintained until AON arrival to assure secrecy.
2496.35-Construction convoy in orbit of Amaru XXXVIIa. Contact with 
fireteam restored. It has been reported that the secure declaration 
of the planet was false. Fireteam has been under constant attack
by Creep forces two days after deployment. 65% losses suffered.
Situation desperate.
2496.35-Construction convoy reports that it is not equipped to handle
evacuation. Nearest transport is a week and a half away. Convoy commander,
Judicator Praelar transmits distress call.
2496.36-The night has been especially hard on Fire Team Omega. The creep
attacked all night in massive concentrations. Losses now exceed 72%
Judicator Praelar orders construction convoy to emergency land at LZ
tango. The fire team is ordered to rendevouz with the ships, take up defensive
positions, and await help within the safety of the ships.
2496.36-After a running firefight rendezvous is successful. Heavy losses
suffered but the combined forces are able to hold the LZ until rescue parties
arrive eleven days later. Judicator Praelar is promoted to Prefect for
his meritous action.
