We are a very proud, and noble people. Amaru believe in honor through strength and determination. Physical prowess tempered by a spiritual sense of harmony is cherished in our society. Our warriors are renowned for their cold efficency and frightening size, averaging eight feet and over four hundred pounds. Our people survived seven world wars which brought us to the brink of extermination. At the conclusion of our 22nd century, contact was made with a still unknown alien empire. A deal was struck with this empire by the corrupt leadership of the newly formed Unified Amaru Nation. They offered us technology which advanced our way of life by five hundred years, in exchange for a million of our people, No questions asked...The exchange was made and enraged the entire planet which plunged the empire into a murderous civil war that lasted two thousand years. Warring factions took to space to colonize planets as strategic bases and soveriegn entities. The old clan system re-entrenched itself with bloody consequences to the billions of Amaru who died in the struggle. While brothers fought brothers on far-flung colonies a second enemy emerged..A cunning species dubbed the "Creeps" attacked and murdered Amaru warriors on all sides. Amongst the death and despair caused by the war and the Creeps one faction, the hardline element of the Shakur province gained control over it's enemies through political trickery, and ruthless brutality. All rival colonies were seized and all opposition was destroyed, ending the first and only Unified Amaru civil war.The ruling "Shakur" party led by Warlord Adamus instated a pseudo-socialist commonwealth society in the place of the old regime and order was restored. Our territories have been solidified. We now begin to expand from known space, scarred by the past, but no longer in silence...
