Hi my name is Mark Peebles and the above is a picture of my family. I am the oldest son of Floyd Jr. and Sally (Lycett) Peebles. I have an older sister Kim, a younger sister Dawn and a younger brother Kevin. I also have a niece and two nephews. My Grandfather is Floyd V. Peebles Sr. and he lives in Romulus, NY with his second wife Ethel (Bellinger) Peebles. I am currently researching my Peebles roots. Many are from or were from NY and MA. Some of the family went west to WI and IA in the 1800s. I have been doing my family tree for over a year now and have learned and obtained alot of information. I am still working on it and looking for more. I thank God for the people who have been a great help to me online and off. Especially the people I have never met. That is what I call family! This page will be under much construction for awhile and I will list the people who have helped me through all of this. If anyone has any information or questions about my research, please feel free to email me. OK so I am here and at it once again. I have four main families that I am researching right now. The Surnames are Peebles, Taylor, Roloff and Lycett. Don't let just these four names stick though because there are many more than that which I have acquired. First of all I would like to thank my parents who have given me a chance to reconcile for stupid mistakes I have made in my life and who cared enough to use tough love when they really needed to. Mom and Dad here is too you. I give you all of the love and kindness you have given to me. Secondly I give thanks to my Best Internet Friend Linda Kielbowicz from Amherst, MA. She has been an inspiration to me helping me with this family tree. She has taken pictures, researched information and been a great friend and helper. If I have a problem with anything I am glad to know she is there. Thirdly I am thankful for a cousin Bobbie Bradley. She is a cousin whom I have never met and a Peebles family member. She has enlightened me a lot and made things easier for me to put together much of my information. She has also got me in touch with other family members that I didn't even know existed. What a great person. Finally I am thankful for the following people and all they have done. Floyd V. & Ethel Peebles Sr, Harold C. & Ruth Lycett, Arlene Thomsen, Arlene Best, Mildred Goutremout, Nancy Roberts, Harland Peebles, Marie Taylor-Whitney, Milton Peebles, Leone Woodard, Burton henderson, Gary Schoonmaker, Orlinda Derby, Myron Peebles, Kate Bears, Pat Swetland, James Hitchcock, Donald Schoonmaker, Clare & Mildred Schoonmaker, Philo & Hilda Taylor, Leslie A. Peebles, Bette Lathan, Sandra Overhalt, Kim Peebles, Dawn Peebles Degolier, Kevin J. Peebles, Robert B. Peebles, I am sure I have missed someone and will add more later. As of to date I am convinced that this search will take forever but I am going the distance. It seems most of my Heritage comes from the UK. Peebles is Scots-Irish, Taylor is English, Lycett is Irish and Roloff is either German or Russian. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%My oldest Peebles ancestor that I have information on is Robert Piebols who sailed from Northern Ireland to Boston, MA on August 4,1718. He was among many others with his wife Sarah and their 2 sons Patrick and John.
