Those born in adjoining Sun signs are also often alike enough
through the Mercury or Venus links they may share to be compatible.
Why do they share Mercury or Venus links? Because Mercury
and Venus are never far from the Sun in a person's chart. Often
one or both of these planets might be in a sign adjoining yours in
the zodiac. Those relationships that really work may also have
their Moon, Mars, other planet or rising sign in their partner's
Sun sign, giving them traits or interests in common.
See the list of signs above to note which signs adjoin yours.
The long-married Hollywood pair, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward
have adjoining sun signs. Although he was born in airy,
intellectual Aquarius and she was born in sensitive, emotional
Pisces, they get along through the many other links in their
charts.
Newman has his Moon in Pisces conjunct her Sun, a real soulmate
tie, so that he would understand her emotional nature. To match
that, Woodward has her Moon in Aquarius, his Sun sign. Newman also
has Uranus in Pisces. Woodward also has both Mercury and Mars in
her husband's sign of Aquarius.
Not only does each have one or more planets in the other's Sun
sign, but the two share several placements in the sign adjoining
his--Capricorn. Both have practically the same degree of Capricorn
rising, and he has Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Capricorn. She
has Saturn in Capricorn.
The Newman/Woodward compatibility links are unusual. Unless a
potential mate has many such links with your chart, you may be more
comfortable with someone whose Sun is in one of the signs
considered to be most compatible to yours.

charts, see my book WHEN PLANETS PROMISE LOVE, a February 1999
