When construction worker turned burglar Dirk Garthwaite mistakenly surprised the Asgardian God Loki, stealing the mystical powers granted the evil trickster by the Norn Queen Karnilla, he had no idea that would be the beginning of a peril-fraught criminal career.

Since that day, the Wrecker (as he came to call himself) gained three compatriots in crime- the ex-physicist Dr. Eliot Franklin, aka Thunderball; the small town thug Brian Philip Calusky, aka Piledriver; and former U.S. Army marine sergeant Henry Camp, aka Bulldozer. Together, the four men form the powerful villainous group known as the Wrecking Crew.

Though the Wrecking Crew has faced defeat many times- at the hands of such foes as Thor, Captain America, and Iron Fist, among others- they have never been permanently stopped, nor have they ever given up their dreams of fiscal gain and wanton destruction.
