Welcome to my page. This page is my place to share my ideas and some creations and I have some ideas that some gothic people may find of interest. I don't seek acceptance, just a place to express my views. If you don't agree I suggest you hit your browser's "back" button now!
This page has a little about what makes me who I am and how I express my personal style. It includes some of the different things I have made in the past, such as a coffin shaped purse, gothic and velvet clothing, a satin/velvet cape, a veil, and various other things. I also have a couple of ideas about accessories for cats, and other things you can carry or wear. I also have been known to express my opinion of music, and you don't have to agree but you can click and see some of the music I listen to.
I live in southern California and I have been "gothic" for about 18 years now. I am not a loser, criminal, or some unemployed punk who goes around sacrificing animals and holding seances in the woods like society believes. I have a boyfriend who I care about very much. I am educated (BA degree in college, yes a 4 year university) and employed and I supervise 25 staff who work with the developmentally disabled, and no, my hair, tattoos, and piercings do not scare them. (However my 15 tarantulas do =). The stereotype that goths are uneducated and violent (etc.) needs to stop and I am just an example of how the public's view is so wrong! If any (politically correct)anti goth-type person wants to take up a debate on that one with me feel free to email me.
As far as the name "goth" is concerned, when I was in high school they didn't have a real name for this style so I was called a "mod". It started out with the black clothes, spiky hair, striped tights and the boots and bomber jacket. I grew up being called a freak by so many people for being the way that I am. (I'm sure a lot of people can relate). Not only that, I'm not your typical skinny ass ghost white gloom'n'doom goth, which I really am glad I'm not. I am a goth of color and it has been a constant source of aggravation as so many people accuse me of trying to be something I'm not. To me it is not about dressing a certain way or listening to a certain type of music but how a person really is inside. However I do love the image and the way people stop and stare at me and I will probably never change from it, which is the reason for this page. I don't dress this way every day, just when I go clubbing or get into a "mood" but I've grown out of the daily goth thing. I have made some of my own clothes because I have a hard time finding what I'm looking for. Crappy Hot Topic at the local mall just doesn't cut it for me (they only thing they are good for is the special effects hair dye) and shopping in the real goth stores is a nightmare because everything is made for 90 pound skeletons, which I am not!I also like to make and collect things such as candles, roses, and anything pertaining to black cats or tarantulas.
