Quite a bit has happened since Two Generations Of Brubeck. Carter has joined a band called "Hard Candy", which has mutated into a five-piece band called "Foxtrot." It's this band that acts as the backup ensemble for this LP. More important, Carter has received another promotion: he is now "Colonel Jimmy Cathcart."

Epic KE-33443. Released 1975.

Little is known about this group, other than the fact that "Foxtrot" provides the entire instrumental organization, just as they did on the Rupert Holmes LP, but in a very different capacity--showing their almost-scary versatility. "Colonel Jimmy" Cathcart plays keyboards, mellotron, and trumpet.

Scepter LP SPS-5122. Released 1975.

Released in the summer of 1976, this watershed LP focused the whole world's attention on a new scene in New York City. And our boy is there--as a member of The Laughing Dogs, which is basically Foxtrot minus one member. The Dogs have two songs on the album, It Feels Alright Tonight and I Need A Million. Apparently Carter has received an honorable discharge and is again just "Jimmy."

CBGB Records CBGB-315. Released July 1976.

Later re-released on Atlantic Records.
