Little is known about this group, other than the fact that "Foxtrot" provides the entire instrumental organization, just as they did on the Rupert Holmes LP, but in a very different capacity--showing their almost-scary versatility. "Colonel Jimmy" Cathcart plays keyboards, mellotron, and trumpet.
Scepter LP SPS-5122. Released 1975.
Released in the summer of 1976, this watershed LP focused the whole world's attention on a new scene in New York City. And our boy is there--as a member of The Laughing Dogs, which is basically Foxtrot minus one member. The Dogs have two songs on the album, It Feels Alright Tonight and I Need A Million. Apparently Carter has received an honorable discharge and is again just "Jimmy."
CBGB Records CBGB-315. Released July 1976.
Later re-released on Atlantic Records.
Carter Cathcart: vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums.
Original version, as composed by Carter Cathcart, later adapted by John Tesh, and now finally available in a new recording by Carter himself.
Orchard # 2745. Released 1999.
