Search For A Father part 3
“Where to today?” Dark Ninja asked
as Sparow attempted to leave for the day.
“Well my last clue was that my
father is a very strong man,” Sparow said as he opened the front door for Ruby,
“So I’m going to ask the strongest person I know, the man known as Green
Amber.”
“Yeah that’s a good idea, after all
he hides his identity just like you hide yours behind that mask.”
“This mask is a part of me, I can
never take it off,” Sparow said as he touched his mask gently.
Truth be told, most of the time
Sparow didn’t realize he wore a mask. It had be so much a part of him; he could
not imagine life without it.
“Well good luck,” Dark Ninja said as
Sparow exited the cabin, “Oh and Soul Warrior said to get some eggs on your way
home.”
“He can get his own damn eggs,”
Sparow mumbled under his breath.
“So where to?” Ruby asked.
“According to most of the reports of
Green Amber, he always appears and returns to the same place, a little spot
just outside the forest, by a river bed, not to far from here.”
“Well let’s hope the reports are
right, because if not I have a feeling someone like Green Amber can keep
himself well hidden if he desired.”
After a couple hours of hiking
through the forest, Sparow and Ruby found a small grass hut nestled by a
riverbed, just like the reports say. Signs of life were all around the hut.
Hanging from a line were recently washed clothes, drying in the sun. Scattered
on the ground were shells of recently eaten acorns. Fresh footprints appeared
in the sand where two wooden swords laid.
“Where its obvious someone was here
just a short time ago, but is anybody here now?” Sparow asked himself.
“Shh!” Ruby said putting a finger to
her ruby red lips, “I hear something coming from the hut.”
“I hear it too,” Sparow said as he
listened closely, “It sounds like crying.”
“We better hurry and find out what’s
wrong,” Ruby suggested.
Sparow nodded his head in agreement.
The two of them, rushed out of the
forest and approached the hut with caution. Seeing no traps in sight Sparow
slowly opened the door. Inside was the southern bell Janne. But this was a very
different Janne Sparow has seen before. Janne had on only a plain gray dress;
her amber hair was down and in a mess. And it was obvious her makeup was
running from all the tears.
“Are you ok,” Sparow asked as he
reached out to wipe a tear from Janne’s face.
“Stay away from me,” Janne yelled as
she grabbed Sparow, wrist and flipped him half way across the room.
“That’s what I get for trying to be
nice,” Sparow said as he brushed the dirt off of him.
“Relax, we are friends,” Ruby said
as she slowly approached Janne.
“Friends?” Janne questioned, looking
up at Ruby, tears still pouring out of her eyes.
“Just relax, and tell us what’s
wrong,” Ruby said as she put her hand on Janne’s shoulder.
“And where’s Green Amber?” Sparow
asked.
“My love!” Janne collapsed into
Ruby’s arm, burying her face in Ruby’s shoulder.
“What did I say?” Sparow asked.
“Relax,” Ruby said as she stroked
Janne’s back lovingly, “Why don’t you tell us what’s wrong?”
“Ok,” Janne said as she looked up at
Ruby, “Green Amber as you folks call him, has left me and is never coming
back,” Janne once again put her face down on Ruby’s shoulder.”
“Relax dear, and tell us exactly
what happened,” Ruby said with kindness in her voice, much like a loving
mother.
“Ok,” Janne said, trying to stop her
crying, “As you may or may not know Green Amber has steadily becoming weaker
and weaker. He now has about as much strength as I do, and soon he will be as
weak as him,” Janne said pointing to Sparow.
“Hey!” Sparow protested.
“Never mind about that, continue
with what you were saying,” Ruby said stroking Janne’s hair lightly, trying to
calm her down.
“Knowing this Green Amber started to
look for a way to re-energize himself. It was then my love met up with a very
shady looking man. He was strange looking because out of his back sprouted
thousands and thousand of whit, silk like tentacles.”
“Master,” Sparow said recognizing
the description of the evil alien. Master’s silk like tentacles were able to
suck the life force out of anything living, leaving them in a vegetable like
state.
“Yes that’s what he said his name
was,” Janne said, “He told Green Amber of a cave where Energy crystals grew.
Master told my love, if he got a hold of one of these energy crystals he be
stronger than his former self.”
“That’s got to be a trap,” Sparow
said knowing Master would never help out anyone.
“Yes that’s what I told Green Amber,
but he wouldn’t listen,” Janne said as tears started to pour down her cheeks
again, “So he flew off and left me here all by myself. I’m never going to see
him again!”
“Don’t be silly,” Ruby said as she
wiped the tears from Janne’s face, “We can go save him.”
“But, the cave is located on a small
island, the only way to get there is to fly,” Janne said as fresh tears started
to pour down her cheeks.
“You just leave everything to me,”
Ruby said as he held Janne close, “Sparow can you leave the room while I fix
Janne up.”
“Yeah sure,” Sparow mumbled on his
way out of the hut.
A half hour later the two women
appeared from the hut. Janne looked a lot better. She now was wearing her gray
armor, her amber hair was braided into a ponytail, and a fresh coat of makeup
was put on. In her right hand was the legendary Fire Sword. Only three of them
exited in the world.
“How do we get there?” Sparow asked.
“I have the full use of my powers
now, this should work… I hope,” Ruby said as she closed her eyes, “I call forth
the power of Trinity, help us reach our desired destination.”
Sparow waited a full thirty seconds
before opening his mouth, “Nothing is happening.”
“Umm dear, look down,” Ruby said as
she pointed down.
Sparow looked down to find they were
already fifty feet above the ground, and moving fast. It was only then Sparow
noticed the three of them were encased in a red bubble. If he knew Ruby had
this kind of power before he could have saved himself a lot of exercise over
the last few days. Oh well might as well sit back, and enjoy the scenario.
After all once they
reach Master they were in for a hell of a fight.
A short time later, the three of
them were set down on a small little island, right in front of a dark cave.
“We better hurry,” Sparow said to
the group, to only realize they were already rushing into the cave themselves,
“Hey wait for me!”
The cave was a dark place, only lit
by the occasional torch on the wall. Puddles of water were in abundance here,
as everywhere you look you could see water dripping from the ceiling.
Sparow ran into Ruby from behind,
causing them both to crash to the wet floor.
“I don’t mind if you are a little
frisky, but can you save it for later,” Ruby said, staring up at Sparow.
“You are the one who stopped,”
Sparow said as he helped Ruby back to her feet.
“Shh!” Janne warned, pointing to a
man in black, with silk like tentacles hanging from his back.
“Yep, that’s Master all right but
where’s Green Amber?” Sparow questioned.
Sparow got his answer as Green Amber
crashed in through the ceiling, causing sunlight to pour into the cave.
“Ok I’m here, where’s the energy
crystals?” Green Amber asked.
“Right here,” Master said as he
stepped aside, to show off an alcove of shiny crystals, “Do you know how I make
this crystals?”
“How?” Green Amber asked.
“You see I take the excess energy I
drain from people and put it into these crystals,” Master said with an evil
sneer on his face, “And I have a feeling your life energy would make a large
crystal, that would net me a fortune!”
Master silk like tentacle snapped to
attention and wrapped themselves around Green Amber’s body. Green Amber tried
to break free, but he was already to weak.
“Love!” Janne shouted as she charged
out of her hiding spot and slashed through all of Master’s tentacles, setting
Green Amber free.
“Foolish girl,” Master said as his
tentacles grew back to full length, “Now you two will to donate your life
energy to me.”
Master’s tentacles slithered towards
Janne, but she fought them off with her fire sword. But they were simply to
many, and soon the tentacles he wrapped themselves around Janne, and started to
suck her dry.”
“We got to do something,” Sparow
said.
“I get Green Amber and Janne, you
take care of Master,” Ruby said as she rushed out to face Master, “Fire Storm!”
a huge fireball incinerating Master’s tentacles, setting Janne free.
“How kind of you to donate your life
force,” Master said as his tentacles inched towards Ruby.
“Why don’t you try me on for size,”
Sparow said as he stepped out of his hiding place.
“Sparow,” Master said coldly, as he
stared at Sparow, “You aren’t worth my time.”
“I see,” Sparow said cockily, “So
you know you are gonna lose, thanks for the compliment.”
“Stupid boy,” Master said as he
redirected his tentacles towards Sparow, “This should only take a second to
drain you of your life energy.”
Sparow rolled out of the way, “You
underestimate me. Ice-F…”
A couple of Master’s tentacles
caught Sparow around the ankle.
“You should have ran when you had the
chance,” Master said.
“You are too cocky for your own good,”
Sparow said weakly, as he reached behind his back.
Sparow manage to grasp onto his hidden
dagger and used it to free himself, he quickly rolled over to the pile of Energy
crystals, and grabbed a hold of one, “Ruby catch.”
Ruby successfully caught the crystal,
but now Master had cornered Sparow.
“Why do you continue to fight when
you are going to lose?” Master questioned as his tentacles rapidly approached
Sparow.
“Hold it right there,” a now fully
re-energized Green Amber said from behind Master.
“You,” Master said as he turned to
face Green Amber, only to be caught with a straight right hand, sending him
flying into the wall.
Sparow quickly got out of the way,
as Green Amber continued to pummel Master against the wall, causing the roof to
shake violently.
“Love get out of there, the cave is collapsing,”
Janne warned.
Green Amber sent Master flying
against the wall on more time, causing the roof to start to crumble. Seeing
this Green Amber quickly backed off, picked up his three rescuers and flew them
out of the cave a split second before the whole cave collapsed onto himself.
“Thanks for the help, Sparow,” Green
Amber said, shaking Sparow’s hand.
“Watch the grip buddy,” Sparow said
in obvious pain.
“Oh sorry, Its been a while since I
was this strong,” Green Amber said as he let go of Sparow’s hand, “Is there
anything I can possibly do to repay you.”
“All I want is for you to answer my
question,” Sparow said, rubbing his hand, trying to get feeling back into it.
“That’s mighty big of your, most
people would ask fro money.”
“I have no use for money.”
Green Amber laughed, “Ok so what’s
the question.
“Are you my father?”
Green Amber laughed again, “Now what
would possibly give you the idea I am your father?”
“Avatar told me my father is very
strong, so naturally I assumed you.”
“Ahh I see, but perhaps Avatar was
not talking about physical strength, your can also be strong up here,” Green
amber said pointing to his head.
“I see, so perhaps I should try someone
who is strong mentally, perhaps someone with strong magic. Thank you Green
Amber, I think I finally know who my father is.”
