Chance Of A Lifetime

“Come on, this could be the chance of your lifetime, to finally be able to kill Silver Samurai,” Bomb Squad said, trying to convince Sparow.

“I think you have to be crazy if you think I’m going to torch an entire town, just to get to one person,” Sparow turned to leave the room, “I will do things my way.”

“Why you little punk,” Bomb Squad said as he charged Sparow from behind.

“Don’t even think about it,” Sparow said over his shoulder, “Ice-Fire!” Sparow said as he directed his magic behind him, before leaving the room.

“What did Frosty the Snowman over there want?” Soul Warrior said as he motioned to the frozen statue of Bomb Squad.

“Not…” Sparow’s eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed.

“Hey bud, are you all right?” a familiar voiced called out to Sparow.

Sparow rubbed his eyes, trying to get his vision back; he must have collapsed due to the amount of blood he lost during the last fight. Sparow felt around for his trusted sword and found it by his side, and then looked up at the voice that called out to him only to see Silver Samurai. He quickly grabbed his sword and pressed it against Silver Samurai’s neck.

“Hey relax buddy, it’s only me,” the man said.

Sparow blinked his eyes a few times until his vision finally cleared enough to see indeed it was only Dark Ninja. Being the clone of Silver Samurai the only way to tell the two apart was by the much younger face of Dark Ninja and his gray clothes.

“Sorry about that,” Sparow said as he removed his sword from Dark Ninja neck, “Where am I?”

“Back at Soul Warrior’s cabin,” Dark ninja replied, “We rushed you back here as soon as you collapsed and gave you first aid.”

“I see,” Sparow said as he struggled to sit up in the bed, “I need to take a walk.”

            “I don’t think you…”

“You’re not my mom,” Sparow said defiantly as he got out of bed, “And if you were I’ll kill you.”

“Going somewhere?” Another voice said, that Sparow couldn’t put his finger on.

“Who said that?” Sparow said, still trying to clear his head.

Sparow opened the door, but when he tried to go through it he ran into an invisible wall.

“You ok?” Soul Warrior said looking down at Sparow.

Sparow looked up to see the transparent Soul Warrior standing above him. Being nothing but the combined souls of many, it was easy to miss him if you aren’t looking out for him.

“Sorry, I’m a little out of it,” Sparow said as he got up, “I’m going out for a walk.”

            “I don’t think…”

“Don’t you start with me too,” Sparow said as he exited the log cabin.

Sparow walked around in the forest for what seemed like hours. He was still feeling a little woozy, but he was quite used to pain. Sparow was just about to return to the cabin, when he spotted a young lady, probably the same age as him. She was an attractive young lady to say the least, with long brown hair, a cute face, and just the right proportion. Her bright red armor seem molded to her body, in her right hand was a sturdy leather whip.

“You don’t look so good,” the young lady said.

“Tell me something I don’t know,” Sparow said practically ignoring the young girl.

“Ok how about if I tell you where Silver Samurai is,” the young lady said with a smile.

“Sorry I know that already,” Sparow said, not too impressed with the girl.

“Somehow I doubt that, he’s in the custody of New Samurai,” The young girl said, her smile still on her face.

“Excuse me?” Sparow said, trying to figure out who’s telling the truth, the beautiful lady in front of him or that ugly Bomb Squad, for now he trust the beautiful lady, “How do you know this?”

“Its big news, New Samurai is holding an invitation tournament for control of FWL, advertised to be in the tournament is none other than Silver Samurai himself,” the lady said, still with her bright smile.

“Great, I intend this tournament, kill Silver Samurai and be on my way,” Sparow said as he started to walk away dear.

            The young lady laughed.

“What’s so funny?” Sparow asked, turning back to the girl.

“First off you don’t even know where it’s being held,” the young lady said, chuckling.

“I know where FWL headquarters are,” Sparow said with confidence.

“But it’s not being held there.”

“Fine then, where is it being held?”

“An opera house, not to far from here, I can take you there if you like,” The young lady said with a smile.

Sparow thought about it for a moment, “How can I trust you, I don’t even know your name.”

“Its Ruby,” The lady said with another big smile.

“Ok, take me to this opera house.”

“I love to but there’s one other catch.”

“And that is?” Sparow said growing impatient.

            “It’s a couple tournament.”

            “What?”

“You need a female partner, if you hope to intend. I be your partner if you like,” Ruby said with a suggestive smile.

“How do I know you are a good fighter?”

“Try me,” Ruby said cracking her whip.

“You don’t want me to do that,” Sparow said laughing.

“What’s a matter, afraid you are going to get beaten by a girl?” Ruby said as the tip of her whip, glowed a bright red, in her left hand a fireball appeared.

“You’re on,” Sparow said, not practically looking forward to beating this cute girl up, “But that fire of yours isn’t going to do you any good.”

            “We see about that.”

            “Ok, fair warning, Ice-Fire!”

Ruby obviously knew Sparow well instead of aiming her fireball at Sparow, she instead aimed it at the base of a large tree, causing the tree to collapse, blocking of Sparow’s Ice-fire. The Ice-fire hit the tree and froze it to the ground.

“Very good,” Sparow said clapping, “But all you did is cut us off from the fight, how do you plan on attacking me with that huge frozen tree in the way?”

“Simple, I move it,” Ruby said from behind the tree as it started to shake.

“What the?” Sparow said, as he stared in disbelief, Ruby was actually lifting the tree up and over her head, “I think I just found myself a partner.”
