The Incredible Shade

“Find another way to go, I take care of this problem,” Shade ordered the group.

            “But…” Silver Samurai protested.

            “Go,” Shade ordered again.

“Better do as the man says,” Yellow Knight said as he quickly retreated.

The Four Rainbow Knights and Silver Samurai retreated back down the hallway, until they found an alternative way to go. As they made the way through the dark corridors, the sound of the battle fading away the group of Rainbow Knights talked about Shade.

“That man is incredible,” Green Knight said.

“I know, I would never attempt to take on New Samurai by myself, he’s just too powerful,” Orange Knight said.

“I doubt we would be much of a help even if we stayed to fight,” Purple Knight said.

“Agreed, we are better off concentrating on our mission, and hope Shade can pull it off,” Yellow Knight said.

The four knights continue to chat, but their conversation got fainter and fainter. Without even realizing it Silver Samurai had stopped in his tracks.

‘What am I doing? I can’t let Shade fight all alone.’

Silver Samurai decided he would go back to help Shade, only problem, which way was back? These dark corridors were like a maze. Never the less, Silver Samurai attempted to retrace his steps. After about ten minutes, and a couple of dead ends, Silver Samurai could hear the sound of Shade and New Samurai battling. Unfortunately a collapsed corridor prevented him from joining the fight.

            ‘Now what?’

The sound of another, much larger fight caught Silver Samurai’s attentions. From the sounds of it The Heroes were in a fierce battle with the Rainbow Knights. The Rainbow Knights are supposed to save the Heroes, not fight them!

‘I guess it up to me to find the device that is controlling the Heroes.’

Going on pure instinct Silver Samurai wandered down numerous corridors, until he found himself in a small little room. In the middle of the room, on a pedestal was a glowing purple ball.

‘I wonder if this is the machine that is controlling the Heroes minds? Only one way to find out I suppose.’

Silver Samurai threw a white fireball at the glowing ball, but his attack had no effect on it.

‘Hmm… I must be getting weaker… no the machine was made by my dad, so it’s probably immune to magic.’

Having thought this Silver Samurai decided to slowly walk up to the glowing ball, hoping there were no alarms, thankfully there wasn’t. Silver Samurai scratched his head trying to figure out which button on the pedestal he should press.

Just then two members of the Rainbow Knights came into the room right after each other, closely followed by two members of the Heroes, White Phantom and Angela.

As Yellow Knight battled the members of the Heroes by himself, the glowing purple ball distracted Purple Knight.

“Hey Yellow Knight what do you suppose this thing is?” Purple Knight questioned his fellow knight.

“I’m kind of busy here,” Yellow Knight said in between blocking sword blows.

“It’s the device that controls the Heroes minds,” Silver Samurai answered.

Just then Yellow Knight was sent flying towards Silver Samurai, causing him to scramble out of the way. Yellow Knight crashed right into the pedestal, knocking it over, setting off a loud alarm, plus breaking the purple ball in the process.

“Great now you broke it,” Purple Knight said as he leaned over his fallen comrade.

“What is going on in here?” Disgruntled Housewife said as she stomped into the room.

“Hold in right there,” White Phantom said as he turned around and placed his sword against Disgruntled Housewife’s neck, “You made us your puppets long enough, now it’s time to pay.”

“You fools,” Disgruntled Housewife said laughing, “In less than a minute hundreds of guards are going to be here, there’s no escape.”

“We see about that,” Silver Samurai said as he stepped out to face his mother, “Samurai White Fi…”

Silver Samurai started to get dizzy in mid sentence, his vision blurred, his body grew limp, and soon everything went black.

Silver Samurai woke up the next day, back at the old Heroes headquarters; above him Shade and White Phantom were talking.

“That was incredible how you rescued us the other day,” White Phantom said.

“I’m happy I could help,” Shade said.

“Now I can re-establish the Heroes, and our fight for justice can once again begin,” White Phantom said.

“I?” Silver Samurai questioned, “What about me? I started the Heroes, what give you the right to lead them?”

White Phantom ignored Silver Samurai, instead continued his conversation with Shade, “You know we be happy to have you as a member of The Heroes.”

“That’s very kind of you, but I have other things I must do,” Shade said.

“Hey, right about me?” Silver Samurai questioned, tired of getting ignored by everyone.

“Awe, this place looks just like it did when I left,” the all too familiar voice of Melisa said as she entered the room.

“Oh great, now here’s on person I wouldn’t mind ignoring me,” Silver Samurai said under his breath.

            Surprisingly, Melisa did exactly that.

“So you must be the famous Shade, everyone is talking about,” Melisa said with a smile as she shook Shade’s hand.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you… Melisa right?” Shade asked.

“How did you know?” Melisa questioned, shocked that this strange man knew her name.

“I know everything,” Shade said, without a trace of cockiness, “Now If you excuse me I have something I must do.”

Shade turned and left the room. Silver Samurai decided to follow him.

“I’m starting to feel like a ghost, everyone is ignoring me,” Silver Samurai said as he caught up with Shade.

“Don’t be silly,” Shade said after a short pause, “Now then, it’s time for you to do you to fix another mistake in your life.

“And that would be?” Silver Samurai question.

“That girl, back there,” Shade said pointing to the room they just left, “It’s time to fix that broken heart you gave to Melisa.”

“Wait a minute,” Silver Samurai protested, “I’m not going back again with that woman.”

            “Don’t be silly my boy.”

‘There it is again, my boy. Boy that is really getting on my nerves.’

“Come, my boy, we have stuff to do.”

‘Will you shut up with my boy, already!’

Silver samurai nodded, not wanting to be rude.

Shade turned around, and headed back towards the room he just left.

Just as the two entered the doors, alarms went blazing.

            “What’s that?” Melisa questioned.

“Avatar is trapped the sewers underneath FWL,” Shade answered.

White Phantom quickly punched a few keys on the keyboard in front of him, “He’s right… How did you…?”

“I told you I know everything,” Shade answered.

“This isn’t good, most of The Heroes are still tired from yesterday’s battle, and if we don’t act fast Avatar going to be captured by FWL,” White Phantom said as he stared at the reward poster for Avatar on the computer screen, “And judging by this FWL wants Avatar a lot…one million dollars was the latest reward put on his head.”

“I go,” Melisa said, as she twirled her Twin Vipers.

“But you can’t save him by yourself,” White Phantom said.

“Don’t worry I go with her,” Shade said with a reassuring voice.

“Hey don’t forget about me, I still owe Avatar a favor or two,” Silver Samurai said.

“Well I hope you have another incredible showing of powers Shade, because this mission will be tough,” White Phantom said.

“Don’t worry about me,” Shade said.

            ‘What about me?’

Shade teleported the two outside of the entrance of the sewers where Avatar was trapped. A huge pile of debri already blocked off the entrance. It would take some strong magic to break in; buts Silver Samurai was up to the challenge… granted his fireball actually work this time.

“Ok its worth a shot,” Silver Samurai said as he crossed his fingers, “Samurai White Fi…”
