The Bounty

            “What do you want Avatar?”

Silver Samurai knew Avatar well. He was a master of all weapons, bows, knifes, nun chunks, you name it Avatar could wield it with the greatest of ease. But Avatar was by far the most dangerous with the sword. His swordsmanship was equal if not better than his own.

“I need your help,” Avatar said, not releasing his hold on the innocent bystander.

“You certainly have a funny way of showing that.”

“Sorry, I need to make sure you listen to me.”

“I’m more willing to listen once you let go of him,” Silver Samurai nods to the terrified bystander.

“Fine,” Avatar threw the innocent bystander aside, “Happy?”

“You could be a little bit more gently”

            Avatar shrugs, “Sue me.”

“Love to, but lawyers on too expensive even for me. So what do you want?”

            “Your help.”

“You said that already. But you need to tell me what’s wrong for me to help. See first you tell me what’s wrong, and then I try to fix the problem. That’s how this whole help thing works.”

“Very funny, now if we can cut the jokes I can tell you my problem.”

            “And that would be?”

“I’m being hunted by the FWL.”

Silver Samurai breaks up in laughter.

            “What’s so funny?”

“You are a member of FWL, why would they hunt you? Come on you need to think of better lies to get me off guard. Make sure you tell New Samurai for me, nice try.”

“It’s true! I swear! I abandoned FWL and now they want my head.”

“Suuuure. Now I suggest you get out of here, unless if you want to fight me,” Silver Samurai pulls out his sword, which immediately was surrounded by white flames.

“Wait you got to believe me!”

“I heard to many lies in my day, now prepare yourself,” Silver Samurai took a step forward but was immediately stopped in hi tracks by a rifle blast, barely missing his head.”

“I’m afraid he’s right a voice said in the distance.”

“Since when did you become a bounty hunter, Sandman?” Silver Samurai asked, recognizing the voice.

Sandman was a childhood friend of Silver Samurai’s, but after a devastating earthquake when they were kids that all changed. Sandman was killed in the earthquake, and wound up as a member of Bomb Squad’s Underworld Team.

“I’m under Bomb Squad’s orders. New Samurai posted a 1.9 million dollar prize for Avatars head, and Bomb Squad could use that money to expand his undead army,” Sandman said as he walked up behind Avatar and pointed his huge rifle in Avatar’s back.

“So Bomb Squad is willing to work with the enemy just for a little money?” Silver Samurai asked.

“Wait!” Avatar screamed, “Are you telling me New Samurai thinks I’m only worth 1.9 million dollars. I’m worth a lot more than that!”

“Hey, I just follow orders,” Sandman said as he pressed the butt of his rifle into Avatar's back, “And my orders are to deliver you to New Samurai, dead or alive. I let you choose which one that is. You struggle it is dead, but if you come along nicely I just might spare your life.”

“You’re so thoughtful,” Avatar said with a frown on his face.

“Boy this is so exciting!” The reporter said, who had been silent and hiding behind his desk this whole time. “You got this on film, right Bob?”

            “Yeah boss,” the cameraman replied.

“Hey, no pictures,” Sandman pointed his rifle at the camera and blasted it.

Silver Samurai took advantage of the distraction and quickly scolded Sandman’s face with a white fireball. Sandman yelped in pain and dropped the rifle to the ground.

“Come on,” Silver Samurai said to Avatar as he blasted a window open with another fireball.

“What about Sandman?” Avatar asked as he quickly climbed through the window.

“He’s already dead, so I don’t think that fireball will faze him for long,” Silver Samurai said as he joined Avatar on the outside.

            “So now where?”

“Leave that to me,” Silver Samurai said as he took out a hand held device and punched a few keys on it.

“What’s that?” Avatar asked, slightly confused.

“You see,” Silver Samurai said as he pocketed the device. Within a couple of seconds, a sleek, metallic looking jet landed a short distance away. “Well come on let’s go.”

“What in the world is that thing?”

“My little toy, The Silver Hawk.”

“Little?” Avatar said, staring at the huge jet.

“No time to lose come on,” Silver Samurai said as a ramp slid out of the Silver Hawk and touched the ground. He was stopped at the top of the ramp where his son, Hawk stood. “What are you doing here?”

Hawk was defiantly a mystery to Silver Samurai. Not only was his son only 2 years old, yet looked closer to 19, he bared almost no resemblance to his father. While Silver Samurai was tall, thin, and dark haired, Hawk was short, bulky and blond hair, if it wasn’t for Hawk’s younger twin brother Silver Samurai would think this was the strangest kid he ever met. But nonetheless he still loved both his kids.

“I happened to be joyriding when you called for the Silver Hawk,” Hawk stated with a little guilt in his voice.

“I told you, you can’t drive the Silver Hawk until you are three.”

            “But dad!”

“Save family time for later, we got company,” Avatar said as rifle blast bounced off the silver Hawk metallic structure.

“Ok everyone inside we are taking off,” Silver Samurai said as he rushed inside with his son, Avatar was close behind. Silver Samurai quickly went to the cockpit, sat down in the pilot seat and lifted the Silver Hawk off the ground.”

“That was close,” Avatar said as he sat down next to Silver Samurai. Just then the Silver Hawk shook violently. “What was that?”

“I’m afraid we have company,” Hawk pointed to a computer screen as the Silver Hawk shook again.

“Damn that’s a Star Fighter!” Silver Samurai said recognizing the futuristic plane.

“If we take too many more hits, we are done for,” Hawk said with panic in his voice.

The Silver Hawk shook again, this time a lot more violently.

“Too late,” Silver Samurai said as red lights flashed all around him.
