Chapter 5

“I can’t believe you talked that way to my mother!” JC yelled slamming the door.

“Well, maybe if someone would have stopped saying she’s nothing like Kristen then I wouldn’t have yelled at you!” she snapped back.

They kept yelling at each other and Nick looked at me with a blank face. I point to the sofa and we sat down and listen to Wendy and JC yell.

“You are such a pig!” Wendy yelled.

“Why am I a pig?”

“You eat everything! I’ll I had was a piece of bread!”

“Well you need to go on a diet!”

“That’s it! Get out! And don’t forget your dog!”

“That’s all you care about is my dog!”

“He’s a lot nicer then you!”

“Whatever!” then he walked out and slammed the door as hard as he could.

Wendy started pacing around the room, “Can you believe him!” she yelled, “I mean what an jerk! Why did I even like him?” Then she looked at Nick and me, “Ahh, who are you?” She said in embarrassment.

“Wendy,” I said standing up, “this is Nick.”

“Hi,” he said with a grin trying to hold back his laughter.

“Hey,” Wendy said still embarrassed.

“I met him at the beach and we started talking and he said he would help us with the moving.”

“Oh. Of coarse. Since JC won’t help.”

“Okay, well why don’t you go cool off and Nick and I will bring up more stuff,” I suggested.

“Okay,” she said walking in to her room.

Nick looked at me, “Well, that was…ah...umm…interesting.”

“You can say it. JC is a butthead and Wendy needs to take a chill pill.”

“Okay you just said it for me.”

I laughed, “We better get the stuff down there up here.”

“Okay,” he said leading the way.

He was so sweet and kind to me. And his blue eyes were so beautiful. And I’m being a fool. Why do I fell like this?

He helped bring up more boxes and two hours must have gone by because we were so tried.

“Well it’s getting late. I better go home,” he said.

“Okay, well umm I’m going to be here. If you umm need anything.”

“Do you have a piece of paper and pen,” he asked me.

“Yeah, hold on let me go get it.”

I walked in the kitchen and looked everywhere and finally found a pad of paper and a pen. I walked back to Nick and handed it to him.

He wrote something on it, “There that’s my phone number. What’s yours?”

I wrote it down.

“Thanks,” he said.

“No problem.”

He walked to the door then turned around, “Are you doing anything Saturday?”

“Well, let’s see,” I had to think, “Yeah. I’m busy. Some friends are coming over from California.”

“Oh,” he said a little displeased.

“You can come if you want. See its Wendy and my 19th birthday Saturday.”

“Oh okay, I’ll come. What do you and Wendy want?”

“Wendy just get her a CD or something, you don’t have to get me anything.”

“Are you sure?” he said.

I smiled, “You have done enough for me. You helped me move all the way in and you got me the Christmas bonus. What more can I ask?”

“Okay,” he said smiling.

We stood there for a moment.

“Well I better go,” Nick said breaking the ice.

“Oh okay. I’ll see ya later.”

“Okay.”

He walked out the door. He is dreamy.

I looked and saw Wendy in her room watching me.

“Looks like someone likes someone,” she said.

“I do not!”

“Meg come on. When was the last time you wen on a date with a guy? I know you want to date him!”

“This wasn’t a date!” I snapped.

“Okay whatever.”

She turned and walked in her room and closed the door.

I shock my head and walked in my room. I kicked my shoes of and the both landed on my chair. I got my shirt and sweat pants on and went to bed.
