The Perfect World
- I speak a dark secret, yet the words never leave my mouth
- The words float in an aura, above my head, on a white cloud just beyone my reach
- If only courage came with the ever present thoughts, lingering deep inside of my head
- I see those who are free, I look longingly at them, wishing I was free,
- but these shackles hold me back, refraining me from pursuing my passions, my feelings,my true loves, my dreams...
- The pot of gold is just over the rainbow, too far away in a non-existant virtual world
- My heart lies broken, shattered, trampled beneath the cruel words of ignorance
- I dream of nights in a secluded place, where I and the person of my dreams can meet and not be discriminated against
- So often, we hear the phrase, it is better to have loved and to have lost, than never to have loved at all
- What difference does it make then who we love?
- However, if we recieved the label, human beings, we would be perfectly content, in this most imperfect of worlds.
