May 2004 Update
Old Soviet Diesel Sub Badges and a Few Others
I acquired seven old (late 1950's vintage) Russian submarine badges a few months ago that were really nice. They appear to be all more like diesel boat profiles than nuclear submarines; it may be just artistic license but I don't think so since a few had project numbers written on the packing (629 Golf, 633 Romeo, and 651 Juliett). Some are with Communist Youth League (CYL) logos and some are without. One has the old style CYL "BPKCM" logo (#5), the others use Lenin flag logo (#3, 4, 6, 7). One (#2) has the star with a hammer and sickle like the early Soviet CO's badge did. All in both batches appear to be brass except a few that were in a silver toned metal (noted in the list if the pictures are not obvious). All are made from flat metal with the hulls rolled to give the pins a 3-D look.
Classes depicted:

2. Juliett SSG
3. Foxtrot SS

US Psychological Officer 1970's Prototype Badge
Never used but someone proposed this because they paid for a tool back in the 1970's.
