PeopleNews reported that Michael Jackson, who on Tuesday broke down in tears while addressing the Oxford University Student Union, is not quite the softie he seems. In fact, he recently almost reduced Britney Spears to tears, PeopleNews can disclose. The incident occurred last month when Jackson invited the pubescent chanteuse's boyfriend, *NSync singer Justin Timberlake, to discuss a music project at his Californian home, Neverland. Thrilled by the invite, Timberlake asked Britney to accompany him, as she is also a big fan of the strange singer. That was a mistake. Michael, who according to the source was very businesslike about the visit, was astonished when he saw Britney enter the house with Timberlake. He is reported to have said, 'Why'd he have to bring her?', an insult that apparently caused some dampness in the singer's eyes.

MTV reported that Britney Spears follows Bruce Springsteen as the next artist to take her show to HBO. The cable network will broadcast Spears live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 18, according to Variety. While the teen pop star has taken her stage show to the small screen before, the HBO special will mark her first live TV concert. HBO usually produces two to three concert events per year. Senior vice president of original programming Nancy Geller told Variety there will likely be a third this year, but declined to name the artist. Last year, HBO featured Marc Anthony and 'NSYNC, and the network usually spends more than $1 million on each concert. "When you can only do two to three of these a year, you really kind of think about what the new and young subscriber is going to want," Geller said. HBO will first air the Springsteen special "Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band" on April 7.

E! Online's Ted Casablanca is dishing on Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears and the two's treatment of their fans saying, "It's uncontested that Miss Aguilera is the more sensitive of the two. CDNOW reported that she really sings. Believe it or not, we're talking about Britney Spears. She who doesn't always go the live vocal route 100 percent in her performances, was nothing but live when she rapped a few lines of the Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" on the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday.
Spin.com reported that according to Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg, the collaboration between Madonna and Britney will not happen. Rosenberg wrote in an e-mail correspondence with Spin.com. "It didn't work out. End of story. I'm certainly not denying that Madonna likes Britney and thinks she doesn't deserve to be trashed in the press, but that's about it," she said.
"Don't tell me they're gonna let the audience just like fucking stand out there like that. Oh my God, ok. Ok so let's hurry ya'll. Seriously. This is retarded. They told me they were gonna do a vamp! Last week, Britney and Justin, both 19, flew first class to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to perform at the Rock in Rio III Festival. Britney Spears celebrated her 19th birthday on Saturday on stage with boyfriend Justin Timberlake at an *NSYNC concert in San Diego.
At Saturday's show, an unannounced Britney donned a wig and glasses to join the boy band on stage for their cover of '80s dance hit Just Got Paid, playing the role of a bouncer in a club scene. Next, Justin led the pop star on stage and invited the crowd to join them to sing Happy Birthday, which didn't quite manage to drown at the booing from jealous *NSYNC fans. After Justin was finished singing "Happy Birthday" to Britney, they shared a kiss!
Britney then settled in the VIP section to watch the rest of the show, before joining the band and their dancers for late-night celebratory drinks.
New York Post reporeted that Britney Spears is turning herself into one hell of a sexpot. Warner Bros. online reports Britney, 18, who did a startling striptease act for the MTV Music Video Awards in September, had her nipples pierced in April while shooting a video in Hawaii. The pop tart, who recently moved to Gotham, already had a belly-button pierce, which she flaunted in the "Oops . . . I Did It Again" video. A rep for Spears didn't return calls.
Britney Spears has ended months of speculation by confirming her relationship with 'N Sync singer Justin Timberlake in an interview for the October issue of Elle magazine. "When you're really comfortable with someone you love, the silence is the best," said Spears. "When we're in a room together, we don't have to say anything. It's for real." The 18-year-old singer said she and Timberlake enjoyed rumors last month that the couple was engaged. "I told Justin during my show I would wear a big ring just to keep people talking," she quipped.
