He's played everything from a tough military guy to a blind man, from a cartoon character to a crossdresser. Even though passing up such roles as Mike Brady in 'The Brady Bunch,' and Hannibal Lecter in "The Silence Of The Lambs," Gene has taken some other memorable roles. Lex Luthor in "Superman" and Jimmy 'Popeye' Doyle in "The French Connection," to name a couple. He's also a former sprint-car and motorcycle enthusiast!
