Jerry Stevens is an
out-of-work, bit-part movie actor, with several lousy westerns to his credit. He
is offered a thousand dollars a day to impersonate John Merrill Ferguson, one of
the richest and most powerful men in the world. Ferguson's seventy year old
mother, Harriet, explains that her son, the real Ferguson, needs to complete a secret deal and the world
press is always watching his moves. So Ferguson need a stand-in. But
things are never so simple. The previous stand-in had been found dead... Duvier,
the make-up artist, who disguises Stevens as Ferguson is also found dead. The
real Ferguson's wife, sultry Loretta, who confides to Stevens and suspects her
mother-in-law, is also murdered. Jerry begins to suspect that the real Ferguson
is either dead, or a prisoner, somewhere in his own house. Can a seventy-year old woman be so ruthless??
